Quality improvement edit

I just tagged this article for quality improvement. I think the topic is very interesting and I do hope that we will get more people aware of this article this way. Having had a look at the corresponding article in the German wikipedia, there is much more information available. Someone volunteering to do a translation?

Anyway, the sentence Unlike the German rocket fighter, the BI-1 was not lost to any fuel accidents. Following an accident, development was stopped before it could enter service with the Soviet Air Force. is misleading. As I understand, there was just one single prototype available, or? In this case, the comparison with the operational ME-163 doesn't seam to be justified.

The German version of this page talks about 7 completed airframes. Dirk P Broer (talk) 01:33, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Lots of mistakes in the German page, so don't just replace the English version with teh German one. DonPMitchell (talk) 05:46, 9 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

New Article edit

I decided to "improve" the article as the tag requests. I've written a new article based entirely on first sources, which are listed in the References section. Most of the information now comes from first hand accounts (by Chertok, Isaev and Pallo), but there is less information about the tests done in 1945. I'm continuing to research that period, the information I include is based on Evtifev's history. DonPMitchell (talk) 12:39, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

The major remaining work is on events of 1944 and 1945. I am obtaining a scan of the primary source for that, and article written in Russia in 1998. That may allow improvements to be made. Chertok and Pallo were not eyewitnesses to those events, so I am curious to see what that article's sources are. DonPMitchell (talk) 23:56, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Folks on the Novosti Kosmonautiki and AviSim boards (russian forums) are helping me decipher the instrument panel. We have a photograph of it. There are a lot of amazing photos of the BI-1, but I don't know what the copyright issues are. I'll probably just put up a version of the article on my soviet-space website with the photos at some point. DonPMitchell (talk) 21:35, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rated C? edit

I rewrote this article entirely, and I wonder why it is rated "C"? Some feedback asside from just "C" would be helpful. DonPMitchell (talk) 17:30, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Look at the B-class checklist. It almost entirely lacks citations.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 04:44, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
The article is entirely derived from the references listed at the end. DonPMitchell (talk) 02:09, 10 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

If there are no objections, I suggest we revert to the original article and let others take a crack at it.

So, shall we restore the orignal BI-1 article? Any thoughts? The new article appears to be poorly received, and I have no objections to removing my version. DonPMitchell (talk) 02:09, 10 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think we probably should revert to the old version. Sorry that you wasted time working on this article.Meatsgains (talk) 19:33, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
