I'm Elitre from it.wiki. Just a note to ask you about the image in the article: the one in it:Beppe Grillo was removed in August 2005 and I'm almost sure this can't be tagged as PD. Bye, Elitre --80.104.161.248 23:56, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

About: 'who?' issues. Living in Italy i can assure that almost all, if not all, the newspapers, even Il Manifesto (so similar as political, ecological, and tecnological beliefs -ex no nukes, no 'thermovalorizators' ecc) alway fire vs Grillo as they can. The fact is due, because Grillo has spoken against the public financing for newspapers. This, not surprise at all, was enough to feel him as an 'enemy' of the press. Grillo on his side, is not an enemy of the press, but the enemy of 'embedded press' and the lack of freedom. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.104.203.180 (talk) 12:19, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

File:Beppe-grillo M5S.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

edit
An image used in this article, File:Beppe-grillo M5S.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Beppe-grillo M5S.jpg)

Non relevant information about Antonio Di Pietro

edit

The information added in this diff is correct and referenced, but I highly doubt it is of any relevance in that section. --Cyclopiatalk 12:34, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well, since Antonio Dipietro is cited among others as "prominent figure" I do think it is totally relevant to point out what kind of prominent figure he is. So I propose to a) delete DiPietro from the list of prominent figures or b) include the latest news about his public life — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gara1980 (talkcontribs) 12:45, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
You cherry-picked a single negative episode about Di Pietro, which is also an allegation. I doubt this is compliant with our policy on coverage of living people and with neutrality. If you want to specify who Di Pietro is, we should put all of it, good and bad. But this would be undue weight. We have a link to Di Pietro, if a reader wants to know more, they can find all relevant information there. --Cyclopiatalk 14:23, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Lead image

edit

So the lead image of this article has been swapped between three different images in about the last week. The images are shown below. The one I have reverted to as the lead image was first added in December and has been there the longest, it is a Featured Picture on Commmons and has been nominated at Wikipedia Featured Pictures. Before reverting again I suggest editors of this page need to come to a consensus for the lead and then leave it there for at least the short-term. The images in question are:

1. The image I've reverted to as lead. Has been lead image since December 2012, Featured at Commons and nominated on WP:FPC

2. Alternative by the same photographer, set as lead image on 9 Feb

3. Another image set as lead on 29 January and reverted a few days later

Please leave comments below. --jjron (talk) 10:33, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Support Image 1. Sharp focus, very expressive, high quality image. Image 2 looks okay also at thumbnail, but is out of focus when you zoom in and has that blurry distracting element, probably some type of lectern, at bottom left. Image 3, well, poor quality, poor colour, looks like he's in pain, not sure why that was ever put in as lead when we had far better. --jjron (talk) 10:39, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support 1 or 2: I think 2 is more dynamic, but 1 is higher quality. I can't see any reason to use 3, however. Adam Cuerden (talk) 14:25, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support Image 1 or 2: Image 1 has highest visual quality but Image 2 is a better composition. It should be noted that Image 1 is also found on Grillo's blog (http://www.beppegrillo.it/immagini/immagini/beppe_highlander_.jpg) representing Grillo dressed up as an Immortal from the Highlander movie series, and superimposed across his chest (in Italian) the sentiment "In the end there will remain only one", apparently a reference both to the Highlander series, and to the recent achievements of Grillo's party "MoVimento 5 Stelle" in local Italian elections.

Interesting!

I found some interesting things about him: AIDS denialism, prostate-test, Germanic New Medicine, Chemtrails, Nikola Tesla, microchips under skin, electronic radiation. Why not mention? 93.211.29.66 (talk) 08:39, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

File:Beppe Grillo - Trento 2012 01.JPG

edit

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Beppe Grillo - Trento 2012 01.JPG will be appearing as picture of the day on July 21, 2014. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2014-07-21. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:54, 4 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Beppe Grillo (b. 1948) is an Italian comedian, actor, blogger and political activist who established the Five Star Movement in 2009. Born in Genoa, Grillo became well known as a comic through several television shows in the 1980s, but following jokes which attacked the corruption of the Italian Socialist Party and its leader Bettino Craxi he was banned from television. Grillo continued to tour as a comedian while speaking out against corruption and banking scandals, and in 2005 Time named him a European hero.Photograph: Niccolò Caranti

Per WP:COATRACK; not about the article's subject:

He was vindicated a few years later when the Italian Socialist Party had to be disbanded in a welter of corruption scandals known as Tangentopoli, uncovered by the Mani pulite investigation. Craxi himself died in Tunisia, unable to return to Italy where he would have been jailed on several convictions.[1]

Grillo claimed in 2007 that data suggested that even Scampia, the most dangerous suburb of Naples and one of the areas with the highest crime rate in Europe, actually had a lower proportion of criminals than the Italian parliament.[1]

What is "PD" ?

edit

I find in the article the following part of a sentence: "Despite this, in July 2009 he announced his intention to present himself as a candidate for the PD's primary elections,[31]"

What is meant by "PD's primary elections"? This abbreviation is not defined in the article itself. There is an Italian party using "PD", but I doubt it can be that meaning here.

Thanks in advance for an update. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:2012:1:1121:0:0:0:1 (talk) 20:15, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
