Translation

edit

I had actually never heard of him, but I'm translating it because the translation was requested. I can see why-- he was a pretty interesting guy!

I will have to add the rest of the translation, links, refs etc. later. I don't have time now.

Finished the translation. Will add links, etc. later.

Goof up

edit

I can't figure this out. It's given that Benoit was born in 1751 and her mother Helene Gabet was born in 1744. How's that possible?Kesangh (talk) 08:03, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

How imaginative?

edit

This article is loaded with weasel words and seems to be written by the subjet himself. This article doesn't provide any references except one. However, if someone is getting all the information from Britannica, then why would he/she visit Wikipedia? This article badly needs editing and a proper cleanup.Kesangh (talk) 11:42, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

As you can see from one of the discussions above, this article is a translation of the French article, which is fully sourced and a Featured Article on the French Wikipedia. Content guidlines differ over the various international versions of Wikipedia and I agree this one may need some work to conform to English Wikipedia standards. This cannot have been written by the subject himself. He died in 1830. Hope you are aware that there was no wikipedia or internet when the subject was alive :) - Sahir 07:48, 1 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
