Talk:Bennett's tree-kangaroo

2006 comments edit

I have used the status classification of "secure" rather than the earlier "near threatened" status recorded for this species by the IUCN. This is based on the opinions of both by Roger Martin and Lewis Roberts, two of the world's top experts on this species. Since Aboriginal people have stopped hunting them, and the major part of the range of this Tree-kangaroo is now protected under World Heritage legislation, the numbers seem to be increasing and they are expanding their range. For example, a dead specimen was found just recently along Amos Bay Road, just south of Cooktown. John Hill 01:16, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is standard to use IUCN for all WP:TOL articles. You can add Martin's updated information into the text of the article, but leave the taxobox with the official status until that gets changed. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:20, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
No worries! I reverted the taxobox to how it was before I changed it some time ago. Do please have a look at what I have written about the conservation status and let me know if you still have any qualms. Best wishes, John Hill 01:44, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help needed edit

I have just added a Footnotes section and rearranged the references. We still need page numbers for a couple of the references and also someone to add the range area on the map - unfortunately, I am not in a position to do either. Can anyone help, please?
