Strong child advocate

Recent edits have really expanded and improved this article. Good work! I have only one concern about something that isn’t so clear to me. This article says that the Houston Chronicle called her a strong child advocate because she testified in a child abuse case. The cited source (Houston History Magazine) does say the Chronicle called her that, and it does say she once testified in court, but it doesn’t say that they called her that because she testified.

My suggestion: Just take out the whole thing about testifying. Since Dr. Brooks was a pediatric surgeon at three urban hospitals (two of them children’s hospitals), it would be unusual if she had not ever testified in a child maltreatment case. The entry makes it sound like testifying in such a case is a courageous act; to be honest, it’s more of a basic expectation for people in her profession. Ordinarily I would just fix something like this, but it looks like there is a class assignment going on, so I thought I would explain before making a significant change. Cheers!
