Requested move 15 September 2016 edit

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved Bengü (singer) to Bengü, and Bengü to Bengü (name). Whether the name article should be kept or not should be determined via an WP:AFD discussion. SSTflyer 12:56, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

– Sole subject of Wikipedia biographical entry who bears this name. She is a star in her native Turkey and is sufficiently notable in other parts of the world to have corresponding entries in Arabic Wikipedia, Azerbaijani Wikipedia, German Wikipedia, Persian Wikipedia, French Wikipedia, Japanese Wikipedia, Russian Wikipedia and, of course, Turkish Wikipedia, with all the Wikipedias placing her as the WP:PRIMARY TOPIC. Her name, in fact, represents the only Wikipedia entry for "Bengü" — even the given name, itself, has no separate entry. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 16:32, 15 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • If the current Bengü article is moved, it should be moved to Bengü (name) or somethig similar since the entirety of the "article" is about the name or people with the name. A hatnote can direct readers to the name article per WP:TWODABS. —  AjaxSmack  21:02, 15 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Support the first move, but the second one doesn't need to be made. Per MOS:APO, name indexes should only list notable people. Since there is only one notable person with the name "Bengü", the name index should not exist. Just move Bengü (singer) over Bengü and hatnote to Sibusiso Bengu unless we decide to retarget Bengu there. -- Tavix (talk) 06:25, 20 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
