Fixed - it now redirects here. AnmaFinotera (talk) 02:08, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

There were two TV series edit

I suggest this should be moved to "Belle and Sebastian (1981 TV series)" or "Belle and Sebastian (anime TV series)" or something similar, to take account of the existence of the earlier (1967) live action series (dubbed from the 1965 French series). It seems that you are correct: Belle and Sebastian (1981 TV series) was the original name of this page, but in the absence of an article for the original series, said page was moved here. This page should be called Belle and Sebastian (1981 TV series). I have created a disambig page, and will link to it. G.A.S 05:15, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mistake about production nationality edit

The anime series is purely Japanese and absolutely not French. MK must be a Japanese company. This series was broadcasted for the first time in France in 1982. Its first broadacasting in French language must have take place in the French speaking Quebec in Canada. The dubbing was made there. Isn't 名犬 more like "smart dog" than "famous dog"? edit

"名犬ジョリィ, Jolie the famous dog" I am no Japanese but Koreans use that word too, and it usually means an intelligent dog, or a dog with great abilities. The DVD cover seems to be a Chinese version, and it used the word "靈犬". "靈" literally means "ghost", and it can be used to mean that an animal is very smart almost supernaturally or some place is very sacred as if it were dwelt by a deity.

I did a quick Google search and looked up two Japanese dictionaries. Below are the definitions they had.

  • デジタル大辞泉: かしこく、すぐれた犬。(A smart, superior dog)
  • 大辞林 第三版: りこうですぐれた犬。(An intelligent and superior dog) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sin Jeong-hun (talkcontribs) 15:13, 14 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
