Wikification edit

I think the wikification tag refers to the lack of any kind of sectioning. Thus, I think it should remain. --Eyrian 15:05, 4 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It might be better for information about her personal life to be separated from her music. "great visual flair..." and "... looked fabulous" is hardly NPOV either. JMcC 10:45, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

early life edit

here is more info on her early life. if someone wants to add it, i'm too lazy. http://www.askmen.com/women/singer_60/93c_belinda_carlisle.html --72.202.129.98 01:27, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Belinda Hit Me Baby.jpg edit

Image:Belinda Hit Me Baby.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 07:46, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Page 'wikified' edit

I have edited this page and deleted irrelevant information, as it looked suspiciously like a fan tribute. I have also removed speculation about why certain Carlisle albums were less successful than others; there is no proof to substantiate any of it. Image copyright problem with File:RunawayHorses.jpg edit

The image File:RunawayHorses.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --15:21, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

At the age of 19, she left home with the confidence that one day she would be a star[2] that she later became. - this has to go. fan rubbish. Boils (talk) 21:16, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Link edit

Her greatest hits compilation album seems to link to the Best of Belinda, Vol 1 compilation album. Please rectify. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.7.172.124 (talk) 20:12, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

What happened to Belinda Kurczesky or Kerzcheski? Supposedly her real name? I think that's important info to miss —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kirov4ever (talkcontribs) 14:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Autobiography? Personal life? Drugs? edit

Carlisle published an obviously very successful autobiography. It's mentioned in the lead, but not in the article itself. Why isn't there more about what's in that book? And in the personal life section she is quoted with saying she wasn't smoking or taking drugs anymore. Well, has she been taking drugs before? Why isn't that mentioned and only her statement about quitting? That's really strange. Catgut (talk) 15:19, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think i read long time ago (15+ years) that she was very hard on drugs some day and managed to get off mainly because of working hard on her music. Would be cool anyone could confirm. (188.108.211.114 (talk) 19:43, 3 October 2010 (UTC))Reply

Why is the part that she lives in Frejus, france removed? After all, there is a link to "americans living in France" at the bottom, but no text at all that she actually emigrated to france. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.224.155.59 (talk) 09:20, 18 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

She has admitted to have been a cocaine addict for 30 years and was surprised herself that "she still has a nose" This article makes a big deal that she is a vegetarian (presumably because it is healthier? more ethical? or whatever) - equal time should be given to the drug abuse aspect of her lifestyle to put this vegetarian bs into proper perspective. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.48.160 (talk) 11:08, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

The Bangles? edit

The article contains several references to The Bangles instead of The Go-Gos. I don't know enough about the subject to be happy simply replacing each reference and would like someone with a bit more knowledge to make the corrections. Dormantat (talk) 23:11, 5 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sources belong here, not in external links edit

These sources do not belong in External links. I have moved the link farm from there to this talk page where they do belong. Warning: I didn't check them over, so be careful in choosing any references here. Thank you! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 21:47, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Vegetarianism edit

The article states she IS a vegetarian, however it says she was then had a long break, and when she got into yoga, became proud that she doesn't eat meat made by certain farming methods. That indicates to me that she was a vegetarian and no longer is, however some doubt still exists. To me, it sounds like she just makes sure the chickens have space to run around etc. Only source is a PETA interview. Rayman60 (talk) 02:32, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Pics edit

The oldest pic is from 2008. None from her hey-day in the 80s. People in the future reading this wikipedia page will think she was always old! — Preceding unsigned comment added by JiggyWittit (talkcontribs) 03:18, 14 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia has a very strong image use policy. There may be no allowable images from that time period.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 03:26, 14 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Voice type edit

The oage refers her voice as asoprano, but I hear more of a mezzosoprano in Belinda's voice. She doesn't have daek sound at all, she has a light voice but her tessitura, her vibrato, her comfortable range and full timbe at some high notes screams a higher set mezzo to me. Sokdudu (talk) 17:20, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

The part of her being a soprano is from a citation, or is referenced. To change the voice range please find a valid reference, otherwise it would be opinion.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 00:34, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Run-on sentence? edit

The sentence, "The anthology included "Dancing in the City", which had previously only been available on the Japanese LP/CD for the soundtrack to the 1987 movie I Won't Say I'm in Love which had previously only been released in 1997 as a CD single in France," needs badly to be broken up. When I come back to work on it, I'll look for other, similarly troubled sentences. Dgndenver (talk) 05:04, 21 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
