"Traction equipment (converter, motor, auxilary filter cubicle, train control management system) is provided by Bombardier CPC propulsion systems Ltd."

Can anyone source this.Oranjblud (talk) 13:09, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Their website is http://www.bcp-propulsion.com it might be on there but I can't find it - (site also seems very slow..) Oranjblud (talk) 13:23, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
I found only this press release: http://www.bcp-propulsion.com/news_display.asp?id=65&classname=1. But I cannot read Chinese, Google Translate doesn't help (for example 常牵庞巴迪牵引系统有限公司 - BOMBARDIER CPC PROPULSION SYSTEM CO.,LTD., and 常牵 at the beginning mean CPC (Changzhou Propulsion Center), but google translates it as ‘often’ — so it's hard to understand the text). As far as I understand, they carried out some tests.--Sp kenny (talk) 17:27, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
There is also an abbreviation “中白货运1型” in another article — http://www.bcp-propulsion.com/news_display.asp?id=48&classname=1 (中 - China; 白 - Belarus(白俄罗斯); 货运 - freight; 型 - type == BCG-1), and they mention a contract with CNR Datong. But 和谐2C型 in the first line makes me wonder. AFAIK HXD2C is a Co-Co single unit locomotive, and BCG1 is a Bo-Bo twin unit loco.--Sp kenny (talk) 21:30, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well found. The second appears to say roughly "following on from the HXD2C order in 2010 .. our company obtained a new contract in 2011" .. It doesn't really appear to say exactly what they supplied though, though it is definately something to do with Belarus, and it picked out traction equipment supply contract
The first one http://www.bcp-propulsion.com/news_display.asp?id=65&classname=1 appears to say "dynamic testing was completed Jan 25 (2012)" which matches the first unit constructed (Dec 2011) already given in the article.
It doesn't say what they did or supplied, but the title does say "first locomotive traction system for European export ..." - this matches other sources which gives the companies activies as traction systems - electronics+motors.
Also in http://cn.bombardier.com/cn/products_bt_projects.htm 电力机车 为大同电力机车有限公司向中国神华集团提供的2台9600千瓦八轴电力机车供应牵引设备与控制系统及备件(2011年8月)- says the same thing Aug 2011 supply of 9600kW traction system + spares to CNR Datong Oranjblud (talk) 23:15, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
And obviously they were standing in front of a new BCG-1 in the picture, which is a good clue ... Oranjblud (talk) 23:20, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Or in English: http://cn.bombardier.com/products_bt_projects.htm: "Electric locomotives

Propulsion equipment and control system for 12 exporting double Bo-Bo freight electric locomotives of Datong Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. to Belarus Railways (February 2011)" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 20.133.40.85 (talk) 11:18, 7 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Odd thing is it says "...spare parts for two 9.6MW double..." what about the other 10? could be a typo.. or might mean two sets of spares.. not sure.Oranjblud (talk) 11:45, 7 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Brakes and other components edit

I think Knorr-Bremse should be mentioned as a brake system manufacturer. The 32nd issue of their customer magazine "Informer" says: "In addition to supplying systems for 12 e-locomotives for Belarus (DELC), the company also recently received two substantial orders for braking systems for freight and passenger train locomotives for Kazakhstan (from Alstom)." (http://www.knorr-bremse.de/media/en/documents/railvehicles/informer/informer_32.pdf Edition 32, May 2012, p.13 "Braking systems for GoSt-standard locomotives. Securely established in new markets."). It seems DELC stands for Datong Electric Locomotive Co. There's also a picture of this brake control system.

In this YouTube video, chinese chief project manager Mr. Wu Xiaolu says: "According to the requirements of the Belarusian Railways, we have installed the brakes made by german company Knorr-Bremse.", and you can see a lot of Knorr-Bremse logos: on the compressor, etc. --Sp kenny (talk) 19:03, 7 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Traction-feeding transformer is made by Datong ABB Traction Transformer Co., Ltd. http://www.abb.com.cn/cawp/cnabb051/4f15a861aca68a41482575bd00324116.aspx, chinese version has 中白货运 characters, so it's definitely about BCG.--Sp kenny (talk) 22:22, 7 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes DELC is occasionally used to refer to Datong loco.http://www.dt.chinacnr.com/english/au1.htm - it's a modern invention and not common. It's fine to make the assumption that its for the BCG-1 as there were no other chinese built locomotive orders in Belarus in 2011 for 12 locos..
I added both to the article.Oranjblud (talk) 23:04, 7 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
