Suicide vest

edit

Are the "suicide vest" comparison and image really necessary? I fail to see how they help readers understand, especially in an "abstract" game like chess. Frainia (talk) 07:10, 23 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

From the source:

On any turn, instead of moving, a player may say 'Boom!' and turn over their bomb carrier. All men of both colours on squares adjacent to the carrier, and the carrier itself, are removed from the board. A player wins when the opposing king is checkmated or blown up.

The inventor named his variant 'Beirut Chess' in a leaflet. It's obvious what's being referred to. You asked for opinion. The suicide vest comparison obviously then is helpful as aid for quick grasp of the rules. Necessary? Is any image in any WP article necessary? A pic is "worth a thousand words", so can fairly say is better than words to convey. The article is re the game not the vest, so the vest image s/ probably not be lead image. Have rearranged things.
