Merge articles?

An article I created years ago - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caridina_cf._cantonensis_var._blue_tiger describes a color variant of the bee shrimp listed here. But the species is not just a bee shrimp, and should be described as Cardinia Cantonensis specifically, with these two as variants. What is the proper process here? @LaesaMajestas:, what do you mean by "these two"? "Blue tiger" and "bee"? I have this page on my watchlist because I was recently trying to sort out a mix-up on Wikidata between Caridina cantonensis (a species), and "Crystal red shrimp" (a color morph in the aquarium trade). Wikipedia has another article on a color morph, golden bee shrimp and redirects to Caridina for several other color morphs (Crystal red shrimp, Orange bee shrimp).

Looking into it a little more now, there was a paper published in 2014 that described some new species of Caridina. It's paywalled for me, but some of the results are summarized here. "Tiger shrimp" are apparently Caridina mariae, and bee shrimp in the aquarium trade are C. cantonensis (and maybe also Caridina logemanni, or possibly cantonensis/logemanni hybrids with cantonensis as the female parent).

I don't think it is necessary to have separate articles for the various color morphs. There should be an article for C. mariae, the "Blue tiger" morph article could be redirected there. Sorting out "bee shrimp" is a more complicated; I think there out too be an article title Caridina cantonensis, but if cantonensis/logemanni hybrids are common in the aquarium trade, a "bee shrimp" article might cover them. Plantdrew Blue Tiger shrimp are a color variant of Super Tiger Shrimp - https://aquaticarts.com/collections/freshwater-shrimp/products/super-tiger-shrimp-caridina-cf-cantonensis-bredby-aquatic-arts - which are also caridina cantonsis -- which, as you can see, is the same species of the Bee shrimp in this article. I really think my article on blue tiger shrimp and this should be merged and rewritten to not focus on any specific color variant until later in the article, if at all.

ALTHOUGH - This article says that The blue tiger shrimp was FORMERLY named Caridina cf. cantonensis 'Blue Tiger' and is now Caridina mariae - Just like you said.

So it sounds an awful lot like you're right. What I'll do is move the blue tiger shrimp article over to, then build it out there.
