Paul Morphy

edit

This is the home Paul Morphy grew up in. I'd like to add a section about that, but am not an expert on it. The tour barely mentions him, but he is CLEARLY more famous than Keyes ever will be. A cursory Internet search will show that. Anyone expert enough to add such a section? Best wishes, Hoktiwe (talk) 15:33, 2 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Paul Morphy actually did not grow up in this house. His Grandfather owned it from 1826, selling it to John Merle on May 17, 1833. Paul Morphy was born over four years after this date.

Beauregard-Keyes HouseBK Historic House and Gardens – Business has changed name. Cpfountain (talk) 18:14, 9 August 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 14:36, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Kj cheetham (talk) 10:14, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Question - is the actual building listed as or called the Beauregard-Keyes House? Would it be more accurate to say: "The Beauregard-Keyes House is a historic residence ... It is currently operated as a museum, the BK House and Gardens..."? "BK House" looks like a museum branding thing, but I could be mistaken. Fredlesaltique (talk) 14:58, 19 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • I think you are correct. The historic building is the Beauregard-Keyes House. It looks like "BK Historic House and Gardens" is the organization currently operating tourism/event venue there. -- Infrogmation (talk) 17:12, 19 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I tidied the intro paragraph in the meantime (it's Wikipedia so can always fix again). @Cpfountain: is it accurate to distinguish between the museum and the historic property? Fredlesaltique (talk) 22:46, 19 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
