Photo of California Motion Picture Corp

edit

I added this image but am not sure that I added the correct permission. This image is now a public domain image. It was taken in 1914 by Harold Entwistle, uncle of Peg Entwistle. Harold Entwistle worked for Beatriz Michelena at the CMPC as an actor and a director in 1914-1917. The phot was given to me by Milton Entwistle, Peg's brother, and Milton's daughter Lauretta for commericial use. However, I am not able to fit it into my project. I anyone has questions or suggestions, please comment on my Talk page. Jameszerukjr (talk) 18:18, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Teresa Michelena relation?

edit

I removed this sentence:

  • A third sister, Teresa Michelena, was also involved in the film industry in 1913–1914. She married stage and screen actor Walter Hitchcock (died in 1917, no relation to Alfred Hitchcock).

It is true that an actress named Teresa Michelena was involved in Broadway performances and film in the 1910s. She appeared as Eliza in Uncle Tom's Cabin, a 1914 film, and in Broadway plays in 1913 and 1916. However, I cannot find any evidence that Teresa was a daughter of Fernando Michelena or the sister of Beatriz or Vera Michelena. I also cannot find anything about Teresa marrying Walter Hitchcock, a fellow actor in the 1914 film. I am taking this sentence out because it does not look to be based on solid footing. Vera Michelena

edit

According to the 1900 US census (San Francisco), Beatriz (February 1883) was over two years older than her sister Vera (June 1885). Additionally, a November 16, 1902 SF Call article on Vera refers to Beatriz as being 18 at the time.[1] Both were born in New York and later raised in San Francisco.John F. Michelena would not be the first actress to lie about her age. If the census is correct, which is not always the case, then the bit about Michelena being a "child of 11" must be removed from the article, along with some other jockeying of text. Binksternet (talk) 03:50, 7 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
The only other evidence I can provide deals with her 1907 marriage to George Middleton, whom she had known since her school days. This implies they were in school together, though according to the IMDB Middleton was born in 1882. In the 1910 census Beatriz Middleton claimed to be 24, later she would assume an 1890 birth, as did her sister Vera at some point.John F. Barlow (talk) 19:19, 8 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
