Although I agree it is one of the lesser National Natural Landmarks, it is cited by the National Park Service as a unique site due to its Great Laural tree population. If it was accessible by the public, I think you'd find many more notable sources on the site. However, it seems that's not the case. Still, its an NNL and that alone should be enough notability for it to remain.
