Map

I don't understand the map in this article. Which island is Bawean? What is "P. Bawean"? Why does one of the islands have a box around it? What is the black square with the red dot in it about? Very mysterious. Kaldari (talk) 01:07, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

You've got to focus on all three maps as they show various magnifications: the bottom, low-scale one, shows the region. Up from it there is squared Java island, and up from it Bawean itself (ref dot within the square). There is only one Bawean there. P. is abbreviated Indonesian: Pulau = island. The only naval success of the Allies in this region was the sinking of the Japanese transport ship in January 1945 by the Dutch submarine HNLMS O 19.
