Political status of Northern Areas

I notice that user Yahoo has taken out the reference to the politically disputed status of the region. I would say that NPOV suggests leaving such a reference in; for support see Northern Areas and Pakistan. I won't revert right away since it isn't crucial to the focus of the article, but I really think it should be there. --Spireguy 20:31, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Himalayan Index in error

One look here at the Himalayan Index page in question shows there is something wrong. Best I can tell, the elevations for the main peak and a subpeak (Batura I W) are swapped. Not positive but I think the other information appears to be correct other than the meters and feet are reversed. Anyway, things like this shake my confidence in a source and I am surprised, because the Himalayan Index/Alpine Club/American Alpine Journal is supposed to be such a highly repected source.

Also the two American Alpine Journal links in the "Other references" section are dead.

I am going to clean all this up. I will leave the HI inline cites and links and direct them to the climbing list of the site, but its current state is not suitable for an inline cite for the elevation, coords, etc. I will use Peakbagger and Peaklist.org for this purpose. In fact, there appears to be descrepancies in the HI's climbing log also. The dead AAJ links are "gone", but moving the data so not lost.

The number of flags thrown up by the Himalayan Index source on this peak has me wondering if we should remove it and its sourced material from this article altogether. Anyone have some thoughts on this?--Racerx11 (talk) 14:26, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Pakistan ranking
