British section edit

Much of it is flat out incorrect or some partial truths. Tonight I started working on correcting this because the British performed so well out there and deserve better than what is mentioned here. I will see to it they get proper recognition for their efforts.Don Brunett (talk) 03:25, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Don BrunettReply

I have completed this section. It is fairly detailed and supported by citations and references. The British performed very well and deserved proper recognition.Don Brunett (talk) 20:20, 30 January 2015 (UTC)Don BrunettReply

No (or very little) mention of the British 1AD edit

This was a major battle for the british 1AD, yet I see no credit given at all.

They are mentioned in several paragraphs at the end of the article about the Battle of 73 Easting, so why have they been left out here?

They were engaged for 2 days, which seems to warrant some mention.

Bourque references edit

I was cleaning up the unnecessarily spammy referencing, and have come across a problem. There are two books by Bourque.

  • Bourque, Stephen A. (2001). Jayhawk! The 7th Corps in the Persian Gulf War. Center of Military History, United States Army. LCCN 2001028533. OCLC 51313637.
  • Bourque, Stephen A.; Burdan, John (2007). The road to Safwan the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry in the 1991 Persian Gulf War. Denton, Tex: University of North Texas Press. ISBN 9781574412321.

The problem is that all of the references were set for the 2007 "Jayhawks" publication, and just one was "Bourque p 330" (so it's unknown which publication it was).

I have looked through previous versions of the page, and can't figure out which is which.

Can an editor who has the publications take a look please?

For WP:CITESHORT referencing these would normally be shown as "Bourque 2001" for Jayhawk! and "Bourque 2007" (or "Bourque & Burdan") for the "Safwan" publication.

That's where the individual can take initiative and look at both books because those two books are significantly different from each other. Jayhawk is a much thicker book and provides more details.Fury 1991 (talk) 23:50, 3 November 2017 (UTC)Fury 1991Reply

Allied tank kills edit

It's obvious the units that participated in this battle had a higher combined Iraqi tank kill total than 100. Sources don't specifically identify where many of these tank kills took place. Most if not all of these units also participated at the Battle of 73 Easting. There are also Iraqi defensive positions in between the locations where the two major battles took place so it is hard to find specific Allied tank kill numbers for this battle.Fury 1991 (talk) 18:44, 11 September 2016 (UTC)Fury 1991Reply

I finally found a sound enough reference on American tank kills.Fury 1991 (talk) 23:42, 15 January 2017 (UTC)Fury 1991Reply

No fewer than 12 Divisions edit

Does that mean, in the lead, 12, or more than 12? Simpler to say how many. Midgley (talk) 17:44, 13 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
