wrong word?

"Although defeated, the Zhao Army fought desperately and suffered heavy losses to the Wei Army in the subsequent battle."

I think the word, "suffered" in above line is a mistake and should be replaced with "inflicted." Can the original author clarify? Natnair (talk) 04:56, 18 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
