It is doubtful that many rumi turks participated the battle. Because 1 or 2 tumens in Rum did not attend the battle, however, the were close to each other. So i removed the word many. user:Enerelt

The mongol commander Mongke temur was not the one who was a brother of Abagha. Abagha's brother is another Mongke temur who fought at the 2nd battle of Homs. Mongketemur who was a general of Rum was executed by Kithbukha, the mongol warrior who defected to the mamluks. Moving page

I think we should move the page to "Battle of Abulustayn" from the following reasons:
1. It's the correct name of the place in that era (Elbistan is the modern name)
2. Amitai writes it like that inside his "Mongols and Mamluks". His research is seminal on this subject.
3. I've still haven't found any monograph on the fight besides Amitai's writings, and it only mentioned briefly in other sources (more Elbistan than Abulustayn - but again only brief mentions).

Karamanids

Seljuks were probably impartial or too fearsome to take any active part in the battle. But according tp some accounts Karamanids supported Baybars. Maybe this should be mentioned in the text. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 14:33, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
