I deleted the statement that Averell destroyed this rr because it was factually incorrect. Forces under George Crook destroyed the RR bridge, which was located nearly 40 miles from Averell's position. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shenandoah1864 (talk • contribs) 17:23, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
You are correct: Crook got the huge bridge, and Averell hit Christiansburg and about four miles of line only. This new version should explain everything. TwoScars (talk) 12:33, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
