All the recent edits here appear to be ill-informed. They attribute ownership of Battle Abbey to the Battle family. This is incorrect. The Websters purchased Battle Abbey in 1719, when Lord Montague sold the Abbey to Sir Thomas Webster, and that family continued to hold it for over a century until 1849, when the Websters sold it to Lord Harry Vane. The Websters repurchased the Abbey in 1901. [1] Also, this is a piece about one of the most historic abbeys in England, not a genealogy of the 'Battle' family. That should go elsewhere. This page seems poorly sourced as of 1 October 2016. I am certain there will be plenty of reliable sources out there - I don't personally have time to track them down right now, but it would be great if anyone could. (I don't see anything obviously contentious, but I haven't rigorously checked every detail.)
I've fleshed out the original 'External links' (now 'Further reading') and there are some promising sources there - these may already substantiate most of the article,

My 2 brothers and I are descendants of Sir Anthony Browne on my mother’s side.
Her maiden name was Anne Marie du Moulin Browne.
We have documentation of the royal seal that approved that Browne was to be joined with du Moulin.
