Morality

edit

The article suggests that Bat Boy has a "chaotic" sense of morality and presents only violent actions ascribed to him. However, I seem to recall that, following the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Bat Boy was reported to have joined the U.S. Army and was fighting the Taliban. Ross Perot

edit

There is at least one piece missing from the bibliography. I distinctly remember seeing a photoin the WWW of a meeting between Batboy and H. Ross Perot, possibly included in a story about an endorsement, prior to the November 1992 election. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.15.64.137 (talk) 17:52, 7 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Also missing: Michele Bachmann

edit

I believe the somewhat recent (last few years) comparison of a pose of Bachmann's side-by-side with Bat Boy is significant and relevant enough to warrant inclusion in the cultural references section of this article. 173.28.244.122 (talk) 15:22, 3 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Real World Information?

edit

Is there *no* real-world information about the creation and use of the bat-boy character? Almost everything here is rehearsing either the fictional biography of the character, or listing so-called appearances in the paper. There is nothing about how the decision was made to create the stories, how the newspaper thought to use him, whether or not there was public reaction to them, and if the stories had any impact on the circulation/ reputation of the paper, positive or negative, beyond the single mention in the article’s opening paragraph, but which don’t seem to merit expansion in the article itself? It’s not even mentioned anywhere in the article what the photograph used to illustrate this article is of - is it a model, an actor in make-up or some sort of costume? Did the paper just use this one photo or did they stage events and appearance of the character to form stories? I understand that the class of tabloid to which the WWN may be looked down upon, but there is obviously a sociological and historical aspect to them and this story which could be recorded. I’ve nothing to offer other than these questions, but these are what remain after coming here for information, and leaving largely empty-handed. Jock123 (talk) 14:10, 6 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I couldn't agree more. The article and its subject matter are so absurd it's impossible to tell whether it's been vandalized. Was 'Artemis "Pip" Boee', 1591-1622, even in the fictional tabloid universe of Bat Boy, really "a successful jet airliner conductor of the underground railroad"?
