Mindless linking

The worst of the lot was a link to red: that was just plain inane.

Then why should there be a link to grape immediately after a link to Bastardo grape? Anyone interested will be going to the Bastardo grape article, and if they then want further details, they'll go to grape.

Similarly, with Italy and province of Perugia: anyone interested will go to the Bastardo (PG) article, etc.

While links "cost nothing", an excess of them just makes us look silly. No one typing in "Bastardo" — because that's how you'd get to this page — wants to have links to red or province of Perugia.... Bill 14:01, 14 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
