Lede edit

  •   Done The lead is far too short. 30kb article, and you've got what I'd struggle to call a single full paragraph of text.
  •   Done The lead is partially referenced, partially unreferenced. The MoS and associated guidelines require it to be either entirely referenced or entirely unreferenced.
  •   Done "The BAA played three seasons with a total of 16 teams participating (18, including two teams that suspended operations before the first season started)" - "The BAA consisted of 18 teams, 2 of which suspended operations before the Association began playing, leaving 16 to play the 3 seasons completed before the BAA's merge with the NBL"
  • You're using "2" and "two", for example; standardise, use either letters or numbers, but not both.
  •   Done "plenty of" is rather colloquial.
  •   Done "These included low-scoring games (there was no shot clock at that time); poor attendance; scheduling conflicts"; multiple; semi; colons? No.

History edit

  •   Done "wondered" - unencyclopaedic and colloquial
  •   Done "The owners of the BAA were inexperienced at owning basketball teams. However, they were experienced businessmen" - "The owners of the BAA, while experienced businessmen, had little practice at owning basketball teams"
  •   Done "nobody ever thought "- unencyclopaedic and colloquial
  • "singing"; I was unaware basketball players were experienced choristers.
  •   Done "to attempt to play" - "that attempted to play"
  • "contest a best-of-3 quarter-final and semifinal" - contested, quarter-final, semi-final
    • I do not understand the issue or the suggested solution
  •   Done "were also" - was also, unless there are multiple final series
  •   Done does "problems" really need its own section for something that short?
  •   Done "once their team ahead by a lot" - was ahead.
  •   Done "The Baltimore Bullets joined the league from the ABL. The Bullets were assigned to the Western Division, while the Washington Capitols were reassigned to the Western Division to even the divisions" - "The Baltimore Bullets joined the league from the ABL, and were assigned to the Western Division along with the Washington Capitols to even the divisions"
  •   Done "who won 29 games finished one game ahead of the remainder of the team in that division" - confusing
  •   Done "Prior to the start of the season, four teams from the NBL, the Fort Wayne Pistons, Indianapolis Jets, Minneapolis Lakers and the Rochester Royals, joined the BAA. This caused a surge in talent as player such as George Mikan were know playing in the BAA. With twelve teams, the league was realigned into a two six-team divisions. Each team played 60 regular season games. The Eastern Division was won by the Washington Capitols who had 38 wins, while the Western Division was dominated by the two new teams, the Royals and the Lakers who had 45 and 44 wins respectively." - completely unreferenced.

Awards edit

  •   Done Seems entirely unreferenced.

Misc edit

  • This does not contain the content I'd expect for an article on an entire league. Have you used all the sources you can find? I'm getting a lot of hits here, for example.
I looked at Google Books and the first item just has one word called "Basketball Association of America". I am minor, so I can not buy the book. However, there is another hit that has some more information and I added it to the article. The reason of the lack of information is because the league was not widely know, and lasted only three years. Leave Message, Yellow Evan home
This article is not comprehensive because many more can still be added. Just see [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Note that this article already failed GAN twice because of the same reason. And the assertion that "the league was not widely know" is not true. It became today's NBA, so it is widely known.—Chris!c/t 23:45, 5 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Got to second Chris's statement; there are a lot of sources available, and I know because I just provided you with them. You do not need to buy them; the search pulled up books which are public domain or free preview. Ironholds (talk) 00:44, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
There's been no new edits in a month, and YE hasn't edited in two weeks, so if it's not ready it should now be failed. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 18:08, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Agreed; will do so now. Ironholds (talk) 19:48, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
