“BARYNYA” is a folk dance and music ensemble based in Russian ghetto of Brooklyn, New York. Singer Natalia Demidova, dancer Sasha Anchutin and garmoshka player Mikhail Smirnov were co-founders of the group. The first show took place in “Fyodoroff”, a Russian restaurant-nightclub in Carle Place, New York in December of 1991.

Traditional Russian instruments are being used during the Barynya concert: balalaika, garmoshka and contrabass balalaika. Each dance performed in different set of colorful stage costumes: "sarafans", "rubashkas", "sapogis" and "kosovorotkas". Program consists of Russian, Cossacks, Gypsy, Ukrainian and Klezmer dances, folk songs and virtuoso performances on musical instruments with humorous explanation in English.

All musicians, singers and dancers of Barynya were trained and performed with world known Ballet Moiseyev , Virsky Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Don Cossacks of Rostov, Andreev State symphonic balalaika orchestra, Moscow State Folk Center "Russian Song", Ensemble of Black Sea Navy Dancers, Riverdance, State Academic choreographic ensemble Beryozka.
