Hi. With respect, this article was in need of an overhaul, consisting mainly of speculation, opinion and point of view, with very little actual biographical content, and some unsourced material. I have retained the reference to the Newcastle lads fighting each other, as it was news-worthy at the time and also notable with regard to his handling of the situation.

If you have any problems with this edit, please discuss here, or here. Merely to revert would be a sin in this case. We could, if you insisted, re-word other points contained in the previous edit in a non-sensational style, and try to provide sources for it. It definitely belongs in the 'Category:English football referees', and not 'football clubs'!

Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon. Refsworldlee(chew-fat)(eds) 02:13, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good addition by anon IP regarding Barry's knee ligament injury, now properly sourced. Refsworldlee(chew-fat)(eds) 00:52, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
