Notability

edit

Could someone please explain how this article isn't notable, or how it's sources aren't sufficient? It's sources include two UN reports from UN websites, a Jstor article, and an entire chapter from a participant involved in it. As for notability, it entails a nation taking over a United Nations Headquarters and holding it by force of arms. If it could be elaborated upon what the issues with the provided sources are, or in what way the article isn't notable, I'd appreciate it. UncleBourbon (talk) 00:29, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, UncleBourbon. I'm afraid I did not see this message so thanks for alerting me to it on my talk page. I raised the concern about notability purely based on the sources already cited. As I understand it, WP:EVENT is merely a gloss on WP:GNG which requires that a topic is presumed to have met the criteria for notability if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. The article currently cites only two reliable sources (excluding those classed as WP:PRIMARY which includes memoirs and compendiums of primary sources) and I am unclear whether either discusses the incident in detail. This puts it in risky territory from a notability perspective. Hope this helps. —Brigade Piron (talk) 17:51, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
