Finnish Petsamo Harbour

To give the right name for the Finland´s Artic Sea (Jäämeri / Ishavet ) harbour, the name Petsamo must be corrected to Liinahamari. Liinahamari was located at the 90 metre deep ice free Liinahamari pool. It was opened in summer 1939. The only significant use of the Liinahamari harbour was during the so called Intermediate Peace period from summer 1940 to June 1941 when the Liinahamari harbour in Petsamo area, was the only possible import and export route to the Finnish and also Swedish industry to reach the world markets beyond Europe. During 1920-1939 a small Trifona harbour at Petsamo vuono (fjord) was used as the main harbour for local post ship service to Kalastajansaarento and Heinäsaaret in addition to ones a week service to Kirkkoniemi (Kirkenes) in Norway and for Ocean Fishery. "Symbols" at the bottom of the Barents Sea

There are weird patterns with straight lines intersecting each other, triangles, and other "symbols" seen on Google Earth and other satellite aerial images in the Barents sea. Has anyone ever explained them, and why they exist only here? פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 01:52, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Are we supposed to do this? It seems naughty. The thing to do would be to look at the bottom of other seas, such as the Shelikov Gulf. Nineteenthly (talk) 07:10, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

I don't know what they are. They don't seem natural, but surely they're too big to be man-made. I wonder if they are caused by problems with the satellite images, rather than actual seabed features. (And Nineteenthly, I don't understand why you think that this is "naughty"!?). Bazonka (talk) 17:26, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry about the naughtiness, Bazonka. I was personally wondering if they're scratches or trenches left by boulders pushed about by glaciers, but don't think this is a discussion for here really. @FarSouthNavy,Iskandar323 : the article says in its starting sentences "divided between Norwegian and Russian territorial water" I was looking in here because the wiki current events page Portal:Current_events says

Armed conflicts and attacks

Russia's Northern Fleet conducts navy exercises in the Barents Sea aimed at preventing the passage of unauthorised and foreign ships.

Therefore I came here in the hopes of seeing a map that outlines the Norwegian and Russian territorial waters. Is there such map available on wikipedia that could be linked? --Rava77 (talk) 21:20, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
