Confused

edit

The Ostend Company article says that the company began in 1717 (whereas this article gives a date of 1722-1723) and ended in 1731 (whereas this article seems to imply a date of 1793, though it rather depends on what exactly "it" refers to). BenedictX 23:23, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removal of ED1911 cleanup tag

edit

Bankipur, an obscure village at the best of times has gone back into obscurity. Google references do not turn up anything modern or meaningful to update. However, there is great scope to confuse between other Bankipurs, onenear Patna and another in West Bangal itself on the coast being the most prominent. As such the cleanup tag is no longer relevant and I am reverting it. AshLin (talk) 14:20, 25 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ostend Company

edit

Can anyone provide a source supporting the assertion that it was Bankipur, rather than Ichapur, that was the "Banquibazar" of the Ostend Company? Most sources I've seen seem to indicate the latter. Brigade Piron (talk) 16:27, 7 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Location

edit

Comparing Google Maps with the 1720 map, I'd say that the location is north from the one we are providing now, something like 22°48′16.8″N 88°21′37.2″E / 22.804667°N 88.360333°E / 22.804667; 88.360333. --Error (talk) 16:29, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
