The plot section is a bit inaccurate… edit

Just watching this on TV (with just one eye, as doing other things), and the plot section has several inaccuracies, even on such a cusrsory look. For example, Willy doesn’t have a record “collection”, he has only one record he plays repeatedly - it’s a plot point of sorts, as Cliff breaks it, and Willy then gets another record to play by swapping the watch that Cliff stole from Jones, which the policeman finds out about and which leads to Willy showing him the location of the Bowery, from where the revolver originally came. Likewise, Carter doesn’t alert the police: he finds the gun on the road while looking for Jones, then comes across the body by the roadside, just as a police motorcyclist happens past, and also sees the body (he is remarkably phlegmatic and unphased by it, even more so than the also unruffled Carter - but that is by the by!). It might also be worth mentioning that a large part of the film is in flash-back: it starts with Jones being “held up” by Cliff, which he takes to be a game so he hands over his watch; then Cliff runs off with the watch, Jones protests, and Willy returns and fires the gun at Jones, who is left standing as the camera pans away, cutting to birds circling overhead. The camera returns to the road, and Jones is now lying at the roadside with his bike. At this point, the story goes back to before the boys explore the Bowery, and Cliff finds the gun; the story continues, and shows the events leading up to Carter and Jones fighting, the chase between them, and the shooting, this time from Carter’s point of view as he hears the shot. The film then cuts to the circling birds, as seen earlier, and the film continues in the “present”. Jock123 (talk) 17:39, 8 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
