1942 setting? edit

Where in the film does it say that it is set in 1942? I don't recall that and the troops are all wearing the post-Stalingrad uniform, implying it is set no earlier than the summer of 1943. Regards, DMorpheus (talk) 15:45, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

The only content I can see addressing timing is the scene in which the main charcter asks other soldiers for news, and one says fighting for Novorossisk is still gong on. This could place the film in late 1942- early 1943. But it's a thin reed. DMorpheus (talk) 18:29, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Anti-war film? edit

I don't agree with the categorization. Nothing in the film particularly strikes me that way, and at the very end, the narrator proudly describes Alyosha as a solder, a Russian soldier. Clarityfiend (talk) 21:04, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Shura's confession edit

The order of events is wrong. Shura tells Alexei that she has no one after the soap was given to Pavlov' father and just before he leaves Shura behind on his way home. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.68.68.92 (talk) 09:42, 30 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
