Fact checks
I have also independently carried out the above mentioned requested assessment. I second the thoughts by dashiellx, but would like to note that this article carries pretty misleading details. A neutral point of view needs to be maintained throughout the article and some comments like declaring Peshawar the second largest town in Pakistan (which it is not; see this for reference) should be removed. Thanks for your notes. First of all, I agree that the Russian sources are not enough. Official Pakistan ISI documents could help with this task - to clarify what was going on there in terms of numbers, terms and names. The task seems to be rather difficult, since these documents are not in English most probably and may be still classified.... It would be great if someone could give references to English sources. As for translations of Russian sources, they are hard to find as well. The Google's Language Tools can do this task at least for verification purposes. --Fastboy (talk) 19:39, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Get rid of the military tone
The article suffers from too much of a military tone like the precise hours of the day and the kind of heroic hoopla put towards the Soviet resistance. Making it sound a bit more like normal English is recommended. I have tried to alter the few starting paragraphs to make it sound like proper English (non-military that is). Another thing that I saw here was (while editing) that this article is written only from the perspective of Russian captives and not from the perspective of the guards. That takes up my concerns regarding the WP:NPOV clause. Arun Reginald (talk) 15:34, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
