Bacons in Jeffersonville
editI am disputing the idea that the Bacon's in Jeffersonville closed in 1972. I was born in 1980 and I clearly remember this store. My mother used to take me here when I was a child. It was in the Youngstown Shopping Center and, as I recall, closed in the early to mid '80s. I would like to see a source on this. Redfarmer (talk) 15:27, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- To quote from the article cited at the end of that paragraph:
- In 1960, Bacons opened a store in Jeffersonville, Ind., but closed it in the early 1970s about the time that it opened a store in Louisville's Bashford Manor Mall and closed the Market Street store.
- So the claim is correct, but I left out that there was a third store on Indiana 62 in the Youngstown Shopping Center that existed until 1990. Does this mesh with your memories? I am unable to find a year for when this second Bacon's opened, unfortunately. --Rividian (talk) 17:07, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
