Expanding the Article
editI saw this was a 'start article' -could it be worth discussing the controversies around the BFHI? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karal23 (talk • contribs) 11:48, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
Older Article Merge
editBaby-friendly hospital has existed for a long while... think about merging the two or shrinking the hospital one. Gorton k (talk) 11:10, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Internationalise this article
editThe WHO/UNICEF Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative is a lot bigger than the UK... this article should be expanded to include international statistics, and the information regarding the initiative in the UK be put in a Baby Friendly Initiative in the UK section.
Sources of information:
- http://www.babyfriendly.org/ not sure if this is updated very much, but it looks like the "official" site... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gorton k (talk • contribs) 10:03, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Baby Friendly Initiative (UK)
edit- I have discussed this with the UNICEF UK BFI web editor, this is what he said - "because there is no web ‘ownership’ of Baby Friendly in the global scheme [and BFI UK do have a strong web prescence], the question of merging is a tricky one. Really, each country’s programme should have their own page as an offshoot of the main BFHI entry, much like the list of individual country committees."
- We suggest keeping the UK BFI page but making the information on it more specific to the UK Programme and linking it to the BFIH International article, as the programme operates differently in each country. UNICEF UK (talk) 11:14, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, so we need an article on the international WHO/UNICEF scheme at Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative, into which should be merged Baby-friendly hospital, and a separate page for the UK scheme? Maybe at Baby Friendly Initiative (UK) or something... and the international page should maybe list and link to national schemes. Gorton k (talk) 12:40, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- Baby Friendly Initiative (UK) now exists, and I've added all the UK-specific stuff from the original article. Now this article needs some proper internationalising! I'll also fix the link in the UNICEF UK article... Gorton k (talk) 13:54, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
