To not merge on the grounds of independent notability of the two careers; and with no consensus for any alternative merge, with stale discussion. Klbrain (talk) 18:25, 28 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

I propose to merge HMS Dumbarton Castle (P265) into BNS Bijoy as both cover the same ship. Dumbarton Castle is a stub, and Bijoy is short (though may grow a bit in the light of current events) and there is already significant overlap, so there are no forseeable size issues. DC will of course remain as a redirect.

  • Oppose - Dumbarton Castle isn't really a stub anymore, with clearly enough for a properly referenced stand-alone article - the ship did have a 26-year career with the Royal Navy, after all, including taking part in the Falklands War. Arguably, there may be a better case for merging Bijoy into the Dumbarton Castle article if the community really needs to have only one article.Nigel Ish (talk) 22:09, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - the Dumbarton Castle page is significantly more expanded. The Dijoy article should be merged there. Llammakey (talk) 20:20, 12 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment - in light of development of both articles, I agree that that my proposed merger should not be made. I would still argue that the two articles should be merged - there are still no length concerns, nor likely to be at all soon. Davidships (talk) 22:00, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
