Right. That is, the machine was thought of as "calculating" rather than "computing". Like in this pdf that concerns a different subject, but is written in approximately the same era: an electronic calculating machine.- 91.122.0.136 (talk) 11:11, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Lots of technical mistakes in this article. BESM-2 had ferrite core memory in 1958. BESM-1 used mercury delay-line memory in 1953 and a year later it achieved full speed by using Wilson-tube memory. DonPMitchell (talk) 19:23, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
