"Based closely..." edit

...on Much Ado as the lead currently says. Is it? Shakespeare's two main sub plots – the scheming of Don John and the chilling "kill Claudio" plot are not in evidence, and Somarone is not based closely – or indeed at all – on Dogberry and Verges (except, possibly, that he is as unfunny as they are). Essentially, Berlioz took the Beatrice and Benedick bits of Much Ado and left the rest. I think "loosely based" would be safer – or why not dispense with the adverb altogether? – Tim riley (talk) 14:40, 7 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
