In supernatural it is never said that Sam got his powers from the demon blood. It is never said it gives abilities, only that it makes people stronger, addicted, and more violent. Yet when I edit the article to reflect this its reverted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.148.114.15 (talk) 22:38, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

It is stated in "All Hell Breaks Loose" and throughout the series that Sam has demon blood inside of him because of what Azazel did. The fact that Azazel chose Sam solely because he was infatuated with Mary shows that he didn't already have powers. Ωphois 22:43, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

It is said he has demon blood but it also says in lucifer rising he didnt need demon blood. And he didnt chose Sam soley bc he was infatuated with her. He chose her like the other ones bc they were strong and "ate their wheaties" as he put it. And weather he chose Sam for that reason STILL doesnt say he only got his powers from Azazel's blood. Also in "The Begining" he never says his blood with give him powers, only that it will make him strong. Still u havent found one reference to Azazel's blood being why Sam has his powers. For all we know he already had them but his blood activated them or a million other reasons, but thats OR. We can only state facts on wiki. Facts of the show say demon blood makes people stronger, more violent, and is addictive. It never says it gives them powers. If u find a reference to it then fine Ill concede, but u havent. As u havent ur just using OR, so either find proof or take it to some one who can settle this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.148.114.15 (talk) 22:52, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

No, what you are arguing is completely OR. There is nothing that would imply that Sam has abilities, and the fact that Mary was "strong" makes no sense whatsoever that Sam would then magically be born with latent abilities. Sam discusses Azazel's blood in "Metamorphosis", and says, "I've got demon blood in me, Dean! This disease pumping through my veins, and I can't ever rip it out or scrub it clean!" The series pretty clearly shows that Azazel's blood gave him the powers, and any theories otherwise would be OR. Ωphois 22:58, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

U forgot several things clearly. 1)Azazel mentions generations of special children and that there are several generations and that sam is one of them. 2)He selected her bc she was strong and even mentions that that is why he solected the others. 3)Its a show set in a magical world so yes, quite easily he could be born with powers bc she is strong. And 4)Im not saying he is or isnt all im saying is it is never directly stated that it is his blood that gives the powers. Never is it directly stated that his blood gives powers. For all we know Sam could have been born with powers that would have never manifested were it not for the addition of demon blood. 5)people have been born in the show with supernatural abilities but NOT given demon blood. No one in their family is mentioned as having powers but they do. Who is to say Sam wasnt the same? Who is also to say that your right and Azazel's blood didnt give him his powers? However, the nature of demon blood in that show is contradictory and ambigious. One minute Sam doesnt need it to have powers (Lucifer Rising and in Season Two) and then in season 5 he only uses them after he feeds on demon blood. However, we can only state directly stated facts. Yes he has Azazel's blood in him, but it is never stated that that is the source of his powers. Is it ever directly stated that Azazel's blood gave them his powers? No. If it isnt then it is only implication at best and we arent here to give our interpretation of the facts but say what actually happened and what happened is he gives them his blood. What is never directly stated is that that is the source of their powers. Find a source for it, which u still havent. Or take it up with someone who can settle this, or stop adding OR —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.148.114.15 (talk) 23:13, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Quote from Eric Kripke in Supernatural Magazine Issue 8: "Sam's powers can actually exorcise demons out of humans and leave the humans alive. So why is that worse? Well, it's worse because it came from this demon blood that's in his body, it came from this evil power. This evil power that was originally intended for him to have the power to control demons and be a demon leader is now being used to exorcise them... and why is that bad? Well, it's bad because its origins are evil and it just can't lead to any good." The series creator confirms that his abilities originated from the blood, and were not latent. This article mentions nothing about the hints throughout the first two seasons as to who he is, the most notable one is "In my time of dying" when John performs the summoning using the Sigil of Azazel (for those interested in the occult and satanism, one of the most recognisable sigils that exist.) 118.209.105.129 (talk) 05:09, 17 April 2011 (UTC) JaCKReply

Doesn't Azazel appear in the Season 4 finale?

edit

It is stated that Azazel is the demon controlling the father in the church. The one who killed the nuns. But it is stated here that the last chronological appearance was Season 2. Any clarity on that? 71.59.149.123 (talk) 02:14, 6 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Never mind. The scene was from '72.

Can't figure out how to fix it, but I figured it out. 71.59.149.123 (talk) 02:20, 6 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
