Reverting an illustration edit

I don't agree with this revert diff. Hyruspex (talk) 11:47, 25 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Agreed; in the absence of a Freely-licenced photograph, a professional illustration is a useful addition to the biography and is, in principle, no less encyclopædic than portraiture against biographies of historical subjects. Frankly, describing an illustration created in association with 2 Wikimedia movement affiliates and used on several other projects as an "unencyclopædic cartoon" is insulting. — OwenBlacker (he/him; Talk; please {{ping}} me in replies) 13:40, 25 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is the artwork derived from a non-free photo? I ask because this version looks quite similar to this. gnu57 13:57, 25 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
The Wikipedia is not your deviantart page, no, we are not using drawings and cartoons in biographies. It looks tacky as hell, and in this particular case it appears to be a copyvio. Zaathras (talk) 01:24, 26 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
