options for "War at Sea"
1) "War at Sea" should have it's own page
2) it should be included here, but in it's own section
3) it should be included here, rolled into AAM, as if it were another expansion set.

I prefer options #1 and 2. What do others think?

i think war at sea should be included. and should be added in its own section on the same page as the ground forces(hornet69)

Separate pages is more in line with the rest of wikipedia (NeuralDream) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.72.84.72 (talk) 07:21, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

War at sea is a completely different game, it shares the WW2/a&a name, and it also uses miniatures, but the scale wise two infantry are as long as a battleship! To include WAS in the article is ridiculous. A see also maybe. 2604:3D09:C47B:6B30:4062:C8DE:D090:729C (talk) 04:11, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

collectible edit

how about adding

All figures are designated as being a   "common",   "uncommon", or   "rare"   "piece. This rarity determines the odds of obtaining each piece within a pre-packaged expansion pack or starter set. By making certain pieces of higher worth to be less available, DDM has a collectible component similar to collectible trading card games such as Magic: The Gathering (also published by Wizards of the Coast).

question edit

Hi Are there only 3 categories: Common, Uncommon and Rare? Can you define, how (in)frequent is "Uncommon" and how Rare is "Rare"? thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eddyholland (talkcontribs) 00:31, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's correct, there are only 3 categories. A bit like pokemon, minus the "rare-holo" ;-)

another question edit

I don't understand the reference to SL/ASL as having compatible 2" hex maps. Is the supposed to be a reference to Deluxe ASL which apparently (I've never seen it) had 2.2" hexes? Thanks,

Yes thats what that statment means Sauron787

Units represented edit

I removed this section; it is far too much detail for a Wikipedia article. Fences&Windows 01:36, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Units Represented edit

I put back this section as it was before. Its not too much detail for a article but lists the pieces to the game with links to the ubits to oher wikipedia pages which expand peoples knowledge by learning more about the units. And this gives a quick reference to unis in the sets.

You didn't need to paste it into the talk page too! Wikipedia is not a gaming directory, but until someone else objects all this unnecessary detail can remain. Fences&Windows 22:22, 26 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why thank you and sorry about reposting.

Thanks to hornet for bringing back the Units represented. And to Fences its not a gaming directory. Its a usefull tool to people. And who has objected to this . This page has been in this form since about 2005. Sauron787

Definitely not me. Actually, this is the most (and only!) complete set list that I've been able to find anywhere; A valuable resource. Please keep it, if necessary the list could be the last item on the page (which would enhance readability). Good work, whoever put the list together :) Mr. Kent (talk) 19:04, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Now that we have a nice WAS page edit

Now that a complete Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures: War at Sea page exists, the Naval set needs to come off of this page. It's making the set list unnecessarily wordy, and we're repeating the information. So, here's how this can work: 1. Remove the WAS (that's War at Sea) information from this page. 2. Include ample links to these two 'sister projects.' The naval set isn't as much of an expansion set as it is a parallel game, utilizing naval warfare instead of land & air. It started as an expansion, but it's grown into it's own game. I'll wait a few days for discussion, before I implement this. If anyone has suggestions, they're always welcome. Mr. Kent (talk) 19:11, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's finished. I've linked the two together, and made this article MUCH shorter. Altogether, it's more readable and justifies the existence of both articles. Cool. Mr. Kent (talk) 04:47, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
