Talk:Axilla/Archive 1

Latest comment: 4 years ago by RJFJR in topic Axilla in dogs

Axilla was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was to redirect the article to armpit.

Axilla

Dictdef. --Hemanshu 17:16, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Not even a proper dictdef. Armpit part of what? Delete. --Improv 18:40, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Dictdef, delete: No, it's "armpit," as in a person -- e.g. axillary temperature -- just a dictionary definition. Geogre 20:06, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Dicdef - redirect to wiktionary. -- Zwilson 03:33, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • #REDIRECT armpit perhaps? —No-One Jones (m) 03:39, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)

This page is now preserved as an archive of the debate and, like other '/delete' pages is no longer 'live'. Subsequent comments on the issue, the deletion or on the decision-making process should be placed on the relevant 'live' pages. Please do not edit this page.

why is the female armpit more hairy than the male? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.147.136.102 (talk) 22:48, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

The idea of WP is that it is culturally insensitive. To show an unshaven armpit is the most 'pure' and unadulterated illustration. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.245.155.36 (talk) 03:59, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

There should be a "male axilla without hair" picture as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 10thdayoftheweek (talkcontribs) 05:45, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Axilla in dogs

Apparently dogs also have an area called the axilla. This article is only about the axilla in humans. Do we need a separate article about the axilla in other animals or do we need a section in this article? RJFJR (talk) 23:03, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello @RJFJR:. In anatomy articles, Non-human anatomy (including dogs) is basically written in "Other animals" section (WP:ANATMOS). --Was a bee (talk) 08:42, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
That makes sense. Thank you. RJFJR (talk) 22:38, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
