Hm. I wonder - is there any etymological connection with "awning"? DS 02:39, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do all furred mammals have awn hair? edit

The main fur article states that only "in some cases" do mammals have awn hair. This article, however, is written as if awn hair were ubiquitous among furred mammals. Which is the truth? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dtgriscom (talkcontribs) 00:47, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Delete? edit

This article doesn't give any more info than the "Fur" article, which mentions awn hair. I think it should be deleted unless someone wants to write at length about it. Tragic romance (talk) 17:42, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

notes edit

I added a photo of the different types of hair found on a tabby cat, which includes awn and awn down hair. This visual will aid in better understanding what awn hair is. I also, added the description of awn hair and awn down hair. Its a gem as the whole of the 'pedia coverage of cat / dog / rabbit coat, cat / dog coat genetics, fur and animal fibre seem to none of them have any pictures of hairs! EE 88.111.90.165 (talk) 18:30, 20 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
