According to research and history, one of the known sons of Awkuzu was Mr. Eliezah Chukwuemeka Ogamba, was became the first black Diamond commissioner of the Republic of Liberia, colonised by Americans. He then went on to work for the United States Government,upon retirement he went back home to his home town Awkuzu, in Anambara state, Nigeria, West Africa. There he was poisoned and his case was never solved till today.
