UK Penguins edit

Perhaps mention "The malaria is spread by native birds such as thrushes and blackbirds. The mosquitoes are thought to have bred in the penguin pool" [1] -- Fluteflute Talk Contributions 10:03, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Other suggestions edit

Taxonomy and geography need revising. More info needed about the range of birds infected by malaria inc the penguins, thrushes, blackbirds mentioned above), the malaria parasites involved, and the insects that transmit the parasites. The first paragraph begins by implying it is mainly a tropical disease, then says it is present worldwide - confusing order, start more general then talk of distribution of key examples? Needs more references - the dozens of studies of avian malaria at Wytham Woods in the UK deserve a mention. Emble64 (talk) 17:58, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
