Just clearing up the Goals section. ~Pakaroo (talk) 00:43, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

The page wont get deleted, its says its a sandbox for a future page, and there aren't any awards to add yet, so we might as well remove it for now. will help with other things as my time permits Rau J16 23:29, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

So is it time for a new list of goals? Rau J16 02:23, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Yes, people with money need to buy the DVDs and use those to add citations to the creation and receptin parts of each episode The Placebo Effect (talk) 02:25, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
People with money...rules me out. Heh.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 17:03, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Start

I think this was a terrible idea from the get-go. Each epiosde warrants it's own page. --Piemanmoo (talk) 06:59, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

I think so too, but for now, this is all we can do. =/ ~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 21:36, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I am dissapointed with Wikipedia's recent trend of deleting hundreds of well written, informative and sourced articles and compiling it into a few. Apparently, less information is better than more information. --Tangeros (talk) 16:16, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

If following the rules disappoints you, then tough noogies. Rau J16 22:27, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Its not following the rules that's the problem, its a few removal-happy editors twisting the rules to go against a consensus and destroy the hard work of others. 70.21.58.3 (talk) 04:17, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
The articles were not following the rules. Rau J16 08:19, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

How? What rule was uh.. unfollowed? Mew Mitsuki (talk) 19:03, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

I am done explaining that, it has been explained probably five times now, check the archives for the list of episodes. Rau J16 23:05, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
What archives? 86.151.230.164 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 16:57, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
I said it "check the archives for the list of episodes", meaning go to the list of avatar episodes and on the talk page there is a list of archives, check the last one. it is there Rau J16 17:26, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Working

I've started building the page, so if annyone wants to help with the episode list and other stuff, it would be appreciated. ~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 22:14, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I added the rest of the episodes, and references on each. Rau J16 22:48, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, I was copying each one by and since I couldn't get to the edit on the episode list. Much quicker. =p ~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 22:50, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Yea thats my fault, we had an ip problem on the page a little while ago, and i had the page protected. The same will probably end up happening to these once they have been integrated into wikipedia. You should be able to edit that page in a few days at the most. i think you need to have the account for five days or more, and seeing as you cant do it now tells me that it is a new account.Rau J16 22:54, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I just made it yesterday. I saw you were working on these projects, and being an avid Avatar fan, thought I would help see this through. =) ~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 23:07, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I added the dvds section too. Also, if you need help, wikipedia has numerous guides to help with editing, and you can always ask other users (just go to their talk page and start a new section), wikipedia even offers an Adopt-A-User service for extensive help. Rau J16 23:12, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Got some more episodes. Don't know if this site is reliable or not (not knowledgeable about wikis) http://www.tv.com/avatar-the-last-airbender/show/28841/episode_guide.html?season=3&tag=season_nav;next —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.115.95 (talk) 02:46, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Sparky

Where was it stated that Combustion Man was firebending from his mind? I don't recall that ever being said. Rau J16 00:07, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

It isn't said. It is shown. The fire comes out of that 3rd eye on his head. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pakaru (talkcontribs) 02:41, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Just because it is fire, doesn't mean its firebending. Firebending require a physical motion, just like all of the bending styles, each style is based on a specific martial arts style, now which style says "Look mad and constipated, now thrust your head forward". Rau J16 03:22, January 15 2008 (UTC)

Nowhere in the show has it ever beensaid that ALL bending requires movement. It could be something along the lines of the breath of fire thing. ~Pakaroo (Pakaru) (talk) 21:29, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

The creators said that all of the bending was based on a martial arts style(the style for each can be found on their pages). Rau J16 03:44, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

So why does fire come out of that eye then? ~Pakaroo (talk) 12:42, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

It always looked like a psychic blast that exploded on impact to me. Rau J16 19:14, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
But how is that firebending? With Iroh, at least there was a steady stream of fire pouring form his mouth. But this is just a blast from his head, its not a stream of fire. The fire does not appear until the blast connects with something. Rau J16 20:00, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

I have never heard of a 3rd eye psychic bender before. =p~Pakaroo (talk) 01:22, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I've never heard of a flying cow. Rau J16 03:22, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Touche. =p ~Pakaroo (talk) 21:24, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I just think its stretching it a bit to call what he does firebending. Rau J16 21:42, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

It probably is firebending. However, we have no proof anyway, whether it is or not, so it should be taken out. It should say that whatever causes this explosion is unknown. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 22:10, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

He can be seen moving his head every time he firebends. It is not physic but the releasing of energy from his head. 70.18.221.32 (talk) 19:37, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
i hope it's not firebending, that would be a major cop-out. But the fire still does not appear until the attack connects with something. Rau J16 14:35, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
When he was young Combustion Man used his firebending to heat the air to use attacks. He couldn't control it right when he was a kid and blew off some limbs. I'll try to find a proper source for that information, but in regards to his attacks; He breathes in then moves his head forward while exhaling —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.65.25.240 (talk) 17:41, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
But that still doesnt say firebending, that just explains his motion for the blast, and an old technique he used. Rau J16 10:00, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

The official site specifically refers to it as a type of firebending. 99.226.44.161 (talk) 05:06, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

provide a source, a link. Rau J16 11:37, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

The nature of Nicks Avatar site does not allow direct links, but here's the directions: select season three, click on The Beach, go to characters, and read Combustion Mans description. If it's not there, it's in The Runaway. 189.32.148.102 (talk) 16:01, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Fine, I saw it. I do not like it, but I saw it. Go ahead add it, I am not going to because i dont like it. Make sure that you cite the source too, that way we do not go through all of this with another editor. (copy and paste this after the mentioning of his attack "<ref name="Sparky">Nick.com's Avatar Website states the nature of Combustion Man's attacks"</ref>) Rau J16 23:44, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Hahahahahaha, dear Rau J16 your a great comedian. First, about the "Look mad and constipated, now thrust your head forward". and then you said I've never heard of a flying cow. . Its like you like doing that. Okay to get serious, check out Nick.com [www.nick.com] for more info. Darbook3 (talk) 11:17, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Picture

I found a good picture at Barnes and Noble's website. I uploaded it here. I am looking for any copyright info. I am not sure whether the current one is better or not. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 22:30, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

That one is most defiantly better, the copyright info is that it is a DVD cover, but as for fair use, I am not sure of that. If you have the DVD in you possession the actual copyright in the image should be located on the bottom of the back of the case. Rau J16 14:31, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
The DVD says "© 2007 Viacom Internation Inc. All Rights Reserved. Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon Avatar: the last airbender, and all related titles, logos, and characters are trademarks of Viacom Internation Inc." and further down it says " TM, ® & Copyright © 2007 by Paramount pictures. All Rights Reserved." Don't know exactly what that means in terms of fair use, but that's what it says.Hydrokinetic (talk) 15:03, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
It doesnt, its just the copyright info. Rau J16 19:28, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Volume 4

We need a source for this release date before putting it in the article. Otherwise, July is a just a guess. --Freespirit1981 (talk) 00:09, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, thats just what it is, a guess. Rau J16 09:17, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Episodes 3.12 and 3.13

Have these episodes aired in the U.S.? And if not does anyone know when they will be? Bettyfizzw1 (talk) 00:13, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

That sounds like forum talk. Rau J16 00:56, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh. I'm sorry if it sounds like that. I'm just really curious since they've aired in Canada already. Bettyfizzw1 (talk) 01:27, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Well its on the list of episodes' talk page, and no they havent. Rau J16 02:23, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm a newb to the Wikipedia community. Could you tell me how to get to the talk page? Korah7106 (talk) 23:06, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Name

Pian Dao's name is incorrect. 189.4.243.36 (talk) 16:54, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Do you have proof of this claim? Rau J16 17:17, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, nick.com has "Piandao", one word. Unless somebody can show something that trumps that (and I'm not really sure what that would be), we should use that.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 17:27, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Nope, it was just that. 189.4.243.36 (talk) 18:57, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
This probably does not mean anything, but if you put Piandao into Google translator and translate to Chinese, it just outputs the same exact thing. However, if you put Pi En Dao (or whatever the spelling was changed to, I forget), it comes out in Chinese. When you translate it back it comes out something with Road in it (maybe Walk on Road or something like that). This may prove that Piandao makes no sense. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 20:56, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Thats the google translator, for now we should stick with Nick.com's official one. Rau J16 21:05, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Production?

I am stumped on the relevance of this to this section, would this not be more suited to go into the main article (or if anybody cares that much it could be thrown into a stub?). In any case, I am sure that this is not the place for production notes that encompass the entire series. I request that it be moved to the main article (or at least removed from this one)OmegaZero Alpha (talk) 15:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

This production list is different than the abominations that were on the episode pages. Instead of a list of how minor events in each episode tie into each other, it is a section dedicated to the actual creation of each season. That is why they are here and not on the main article. (also, you just replace the sinebot's signature, and add ~~~~ after your post and it will add your signature.) Rau J16 19:32, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Just so everybody knows, the Production's Episode Creation section is practically an exact copy from the Background section of the main article except that it has been trimmed to remove information only relative to the show itself. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 19:47, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Volume 3

It doesn't matter all that much but in the Feb. Nick Magizine it says with the ad for Volume 2 that Volume 3 is coming soon in April. And you have May 6 from Amazon. Nick (which is where Avatar is made) does say April. I'm not trying to argue. I'm just saying. Thanks! 4M4 19:04, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes, and before we had this date, we used April, but recently a press release has released the cover, and the date for the third volume. we use that. Rau J16 19:57, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Mentioning Writer's Strike in Season 3?

Perhaps it would help the people who come to this article to know that new episodes are probably on hold because oh the current Writer's Strike? Duhman0009 (talk) 23:15, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Not without some concrete evidence saying the strike is the reason, anything else is speculation. But yeah, if there's a source about that somewhere, that would be a good thing to write up.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 23:17, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Shouldn't be to hard to find considering that the strike is affecting everything but the News, Game Shows and Reality Shows :P Duhman0009 (talk) 23:21, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually, they stated in an interview with Avatar Spirit that they had finished the entire season before comic-con, meaning that the strike could not affect the show at all. I will look for the interview, that way it can be sourced. Also, the strike is over, so even if the strike did affect it, it would not affect it any longer. Rau J16 00:12, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Nevermind, i can not find it. But either way, we wont have to wait too much longer, Nick loves money, and im certain that they want it soon as they can get it. And Avatar brings in quite a bit of money, so im certain it wont be too long (my guess is April). Rau J16 00:50, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh the stupid strike is over already, well never mind then :P Duhman0009 (talk) 01:32, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
It wasnt stupid, they were being cheated. Rau J16 01:36, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
It's a free country, I can call it whatever I want. Duhman0009 (talk) 03:55, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Now that the strike is over, is there any info on when the next episode will be released? I wouldn't mind adding release dates to the table, but I haven't been able to find anything. Hewinsj (talk) 15:33, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Neither have we. Also, the strike had nothing to do with the delay. Rau's talk 22:42, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I figured that was the case. Just didn't think it would hurt to ask. And I know that the strike didn't impact it. Writers for animation are covered under a different union (one of the things the writers guild wanted to see changed). Nick is just following the same pattern they used for season 2. Hewinsj (talk) 05:39, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
(←)They have their own union? I did not know that. I thought they were with the WGA. But oh well. Good for them. But the reason they couldn't be affected, regardless of who was on strike, was that the show finished production months ago. Rau's talk 16:00, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

US air dates

Yes, I know it shows air dates. But since we are in the US, and English is used in the US, we can add US air dates, can't we? I think it would be better for some people, for example if they were looking for the air dates of US. So, if you can add the US air dates to the list with the episodes and stuff. I'm sure most people would enjoy it. (Not just saying users but visitors that come here, you never know...) 4M4 23:09, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Those are the English airdates. If you want US airdates check your TV Guide. Rau J16 23:26, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't want it, and I have no idea what a TV Guide is, but I mean (,)the people who come here might be looking for the airdates in the United States. Since most of Book 3 has not aired first in the US, shouldn't they (besides eps 41-45) be added for those people? I look at editing wikipedia for those who visit it, just saying. 4M4 21:50, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

We have consensus on this. If we only display U.S. airdates, even though it airs in other countries first, we are being biased. We have the original airdate for the world. That is what is displayed, and until a new policy overrules it, or a new consensus is established, that is what will be displayed. Rau J16 03:20, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, here's a thought. Why don't we just display both and distinguish which date is for what. Everyone wins. Korah7106 (talk) 23:05, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
A good idea indeed. But the problem lies in what the columns for the dates are. Ideas? Rau's talk 23:25, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
If we do the US, then we have to do one for every country, see the problem here? The Placebo Effect (talk) 23:27, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Which i guess causes problems with people in foreign countries who get it after the original. Yea i see the problem. Rau's talk 23:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Finale of Avatar

News has come from AvatarSpirit.net that Nick is going to release trailers and reviews or something about coming up episodes at he New York Comic Con. And the name of the fourpart season finale is Into the Inferno. Link here: [1]. Can you guys check it out. If it checks out, update upcoming episode info right away.Zero (talk) 06:31, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

The information mentioned will be noted, but nothing more. It says nothing about an episode title yet. Therefore, it will not be added to the upcoming episodes section. Rau's Speak Page 10:20, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

IMBD...rs?

Is IMBD a reliable source? I am not sure, since someone just put a lot of information concerning episode names up from that site. I am not saying that they are wrong, I just want to make sure that the source ir reliable. Mew Mitsuki (talk) 00:50, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

IMDb is not reliable because the information is user-submitted. Any refs to IMDb should be removed. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 01:13, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Paramaters

Why were they changed? Not that I mind, I mean the pages still works, but I am just wondering why? Rau's Speak Page 01:42, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Episode 16 and 17

The Southern Raiders is the 16th episode of Book Three. From the title it has been speculated that this episode will provide more information about the raid of the Southern Water Tribe in which Katara and Sokka lost their mother. This speculation was confirmed during the New York Comic Con, where this episode was said to be "a real tear-jerker".

The Ember Island Players is the 17th episode of Book Three, and the final episode to be aired before the four-part finale. During the New York Comic Con, it was revealed that this episode will feature a play, featuring the groups adventures from season one. A clip of this episode was shown at comic con. It involves the gang and a new member (Suki) attending a play about their adventures.

In other words both episodes have been confirmed by Authentic and Reliable Sources. Im adding the data into the page and expect you to adhere to the rules you proclaim. Thank you. Zero (talk) 04:58, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

It seems that the data has already been somewhat added. Ahem. I expect you to add all the details you havent added so far, (stated above). Zero (talk) 05:02, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

This is a Wiki. you can add it yourself. The Placebo Effect (talk) How's my editing? Please contribute to my editor review. 05:21, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
And properly source it. Saying They said it is not a good source. Find a site that has a list of event of what transpired. Source that. Rau's Speak Page 10:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Insert US air dates

Just so everybody knows, if the original air date was not in America, you can insert the American air date additionaly by using the "AltDate" parameter in the EpisodeList template. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 01:23, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Then some people might get mad because their country is not listed.... Rau's Speak Page 01:37, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
It does not really matter if they are mad, because the decision is judicious. The original air date is already noted (self-explanatory). The U.S air date could be mentioned simply because it is a US-based show. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 22:46, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
If you remember, it was that thinking that started the entire thing. But I changed the one on the main list to reflect the Original Release Date, not Airdate. That way its meaning shouldn't get confused, not even with DVD's. I might have changed it here, but I am not certain. Rau's Speak Page 22:58, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Archive

This page needs an archive bot. It needs one for two reasons. One: It's getting lengthy. Two: I am too lazy to do it manually. Can someone add one? I suck at configuring those things. Rau's Speak Page 16:09, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Done, it should be working. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 22:41, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Does anyone know what It's gonna be called? I've heard like boiling rock or something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.74.72.179 (talk) 00:08, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

If we knew it would be on the article. Rau's talk 01:49, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

It is called the Boiling Rock. Nick.com has released a game by the same name complete with a picture of the Boiling Rock prison. Add that to the fact that all the other websites like AvatarSpirit.com, TV.com, etc are also saying that and i think that it is quite official. Besides I remember when you guys said that we weren't supposed to write names of upcoming episodes until they were displayed on AvatarSpirit. You guys said and I quote "TV.com is not an official site AvatarSpirit.com IS". And this Rau has been busy deleting all the data i paste so tell him to STOP. Zero

We stopped trusting AvatarSpirit when the posted information that was not confirmed. And I will continue to remove what you add until you properly source it or consensus is reached on its inclusion. Rau's talk 04:06, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
let me go through each site 1 by 1:
  1. TV.com - user submitted info, ie, just like Wikipedia
  2. Avatarwiki - Wikis aren't good sources, see above
  3. Nick Game - It does not say that it is the episode names, just that the prison is named that
  4. AvatarSpirit - They are getting there info from dongbufeng.net, which can not be considered reliable
That is all, if you have any questions, please voice them here. The Placebo Effect (talk) 04:08, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Rau didnt even know that The Western Air Temple and The Firebending Masters had aired in Canada and as for being reliable, well, i for one have'nt seen Avatar Spirit be wrong before and there is too much of a coincidence between that game name and the name said by the sites for there to be anything other than the truth. This same thing happened with the Firebending Masters, you guys said it was a lie. Why dont you just give over and admit it? You dont know anything about Avatar. We did not say they were wrong, we said the were not from what Wikipedia considers a reliable source. and Rau does not live in canada, so please forgive him for not knowing it aired there. The Placebo Effect (talk) 04:20, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

You know what if you guys set it there and im wrong i swear that i will personally appologise on this page. There is nothing more shaming in my mind than being wrong and having to appologise.By the way I live in Pakistan. And EVEN I KNOW Zero

PLease read why I am saying, we are not saying you are wrong, we are saying you are getting your info from sources which Wikipedia does NOT consider reliable. I think those are the episode titles also, but i dont have the right citations to prove it. And i explained why al your sites didnt count as reliable sources above The Placebo Effect (talk) 04:24, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Fine I give up. But i have a boon to ask of you. its hard to go from Wikipedia to wikiquote so let the other Wiki sites like Wikiquote stay in the template. itll make navigation easier. Zero (talk) 04:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

I really hate to say I told you so... Thus i shall only say: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and you deserve it.Zero (talk) 14:35, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

For the last time, read what we said. We didn't say it WASN'T the episode. We said we didn't have any sources to confirm that it was the name of the episode. Now we do. Now that the new episodes have been released/found/leaked, etc., We have to put them into a summary PROPERLY. Grammar counts, people. :p ~Pakaroo (talk) 05:00, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

We are discussing that very thing here. Please contribute. Rau's Speak Page 18:22, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
The Boiling Rock was not leaked, it was recently released to stores who preordered the DVD, (which the stores were told not to sell it yet). Someone used the DVD in their computer and uploaded it. That's how it leaked. Dar book (talk) 09:58, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Why did you say "was not leaked" and then "That's how it leaked"? And it did leak, a leak is an early release of information. This constitutes that. Rau's Speak Page 10:41, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
In addition, do we have a source for this info? Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 11:50, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
I;ve seen the picture of it with the block buster labeling on it. And since it is before the date it is suppoed to be released, it is a leak. The Placebo Effect (talk) How's my editing? Please contribute to my editor review. 12:00, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
I have to agree with TPE, it was a leak because it was shown before the release date. Gamloverks (talk) 12:32, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Cast

Should we add cast information to the season articles. And by that I mean more than jsut the core characters, I would want the section to include the oneshots as well. Rau's Speak Page 14:36, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Absolutely. The season article should include info on any guest voices, etc. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 14:53, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Awesome. Once I've gathered a comprehensive list, I'll add it. Rau's Speak Page 22:47, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I was working on the cast template(i was waiting for Boiling Rock so that i did not have to edit it right after making it) and this is what I have with just Boiling Rock, DoBS and the Headband:
Character Actor Character Actor
Aang Zach Tyler Eisen Katara Mae Whitman
Sokka Jack Desena Toph Jessie Flower
Zuko Dante Basco Appa/Momo Dee Bradley Baker
Iroh Greg Baldwin Fire Lord Ozai Mark Hamill
Azula Grey Delisle Tho, Due Carlos Alazraqui
The Mechanist Rene Auberjonois Huu William H. Bassett
Haru Michael Dow The Boulder Mick Foley
Ming Serena Williams Tyro, The Hippo Kevin Michael Richardson
Hakoda André Sogliuzzo The Duke Mitch Holleman
Pipsqueak Sterling Young Bato Richard McGonagle
Teo Daniel Samonas Warden Poon Wayne Duvall
Mai Cricket Leigh Ty Lee Olivia Hack
Hakoda Andre Sogliuzzo Suki Jennie Kwan
Boiling Rock Warden Wade Williams Boiling Rock Inmate - Chit Sang Ezekial Rollins
Boiling Rock Guard Roger Rose Ms. Kwan Jeanne Sakata
On Ji Tinashe Kachingwe Headband Citizen - Hide Mathew Underwood
Headband Headmaster Jim Ward HeadBand Music Teacher Phil Proctor
Headband Citizen - Shouji Noah Luke
Way too big in my opinion. I am looking for ways to cut it down a bit. Rau's Speak Page 20:35, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

How about not just core characters, but characters who help the GAang, or are important to the plot in some way? ~Pakaroo (talk) 05:13, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Which would be who? The kids in the Headband, the schizo guy in Painted Lady, the swordmaster guy, Roku gets obvious inclusion, Hama, and the invasion force. Does that about sum up all of the characters who helped over the season? Rau's Speak Page 18:10, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
I don't really see a point to this (And I'm not trying to be rude in any respects), but why do we need a cast page per season when people can just go to the list of characters, major/minor secondary characters, and the such? Putting it in here would just be repeating things wouldn't it? We wouldn't be able to do it for just Season 3 though, it would end up having to be for all 3 seasons, and then that totally makes the list of characters articles useless. This is my opinion of course. Gamloverks (talk) 14:51, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Like the season articles, the list of characters is there to provide more information on the characters. This template would have the voice actor for characters who might not even be on the list of characters. Also, it's out of universe information, which is generally smiled upon. Rau's Speak Page 18:31, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh, okay. I guess that's alright then. Gamloverks (talk) 20:23, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

I hope you plan on breaking that table down into prose, putting a cast table in the article is ridiculous. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 15:02, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

But wouldn't having an entire paragraph of just cast names be just as ridiculous? Not to mention how it would read. Rau's Speak Page 18:29, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
We could have that characters name and then what they contributed to the show in certain episodes. We should also mention that this was the first season in that Greg Baldwin replaced the late great Mako for the Season 3 episodes because of his death. Gamloverks (talk) 23:11, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
As long as we only put in the necessary characters (I'm sure we could trim some out), it should read pretty nice. For an example, see Lost (season 1) (keep in mind the example will be a little bit different than what we need since Lost is not animated). Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 23:12, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
It would be only the characters that made significant contributions. Like Aang is a no-brainer. Gamloverks (talk) 00:37, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I can see how that would work. But writing something like that is beyond my abilities. I can't take on that task. Rau's Speak Page 02:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism

Earlier their was a post stating that deleting the information on boiling rock is vandalism. It is. If people don't want to be spoiled, don't read the LABELED summary. And if, however you view it, the video was gained illegally, that doesn't make the information not exist. If its out there and citable, we add it. End of Story. ~Pakaroo (talk) 22:16, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Consensus rules on this one. We follow consensus, thats just how its done. I do not like it either, but I follow the consensus established. Rau's Speak Page 02:10, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
We have in the past said that episodes obtained in an illegal manner can not be used cause in order to cite the info, we need to have an episode citation, but since we shouldn't have the episode yet, we can't use that citation. And we can't link to a movie online cause that is illegal also. And since the info can not be cited, it must be removed. The Placebo Effect (talk) How's my editing? Please contribute to my editor review. 02:53, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Third Party Opinion

WP:Verifiability requires that information posted on Wikipedia must be verifiable. If the only way that an editor can verify that the information is accurate is to break the law, then that information is not verifiable and cannot be posted since we cannot ask other editors to break the law to ensure accuracy in Wikipedia. Once the information actually becomes legally available, then it can be posted since its accuracy can then be verified without breaking the law. As such, I would wait until these episodes are officially released and then post the relevant information. Idag (talk) 04:30, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Technically people in countries like the Netherlands, where the downloading of audiovisual material is legal, can verify the content without breaking the law. However, I agree that using such legal loopholes would not improve the quality of wikipedia as a whole. Grim Squeaker (talk) 13:54, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
We should have a comprehensive and detailed guide on episodes, that's why we should no delete "summarize" the episode info. Give me a break, why should we create a seperate season article if they'll just make the episode info too short to include at least a few spoilers. Can't we be a little more be pro-spoiler? Dar book (talk) 06:24, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
We don't have unnecessary spoilers. We have spoilers just fine. But with out restraint we become a play-by-play of the series. I am reverting your edit. Also, don't change the section titles with out a good reason. Rau's Speak Page 07:01, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Okay. I agree. I'll just go to Avatar Wiki if i'll need more information. Dar book (talk) 07:06, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
That's what it's there for. To make up for our ineptness and lack of content. Rau's Speak Page 07:10, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Next thing you know, Avatar Wiki gets sued for having illegal info. One week later...We told you so (just kidding). — Parent5446 (message email) 12:54, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Avatar Picture

Could we please change the Avatar image. If you know how to do this there is a great picture on this link (http://www.avatarspiritmedia.net/images/dvds/Book3FireVolume3.jpg) Its a great pic of the volume three and latest dvd for book three and will reflect current events in the avatar story don't you think?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.114.140.24 (talk) 06:59, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

We could just put the insignia for fire since it's basically the Book of Fire. Gamloverks (talk) 08:55, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Whats wrong with the image we use? Rau's Speak Page 10:33, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Personally, I like the 3-D DVD image we have now. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 11:52, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I think the fire insigna would fit quite well, as the other seasons have the image from complete-season-dvd-box, and that is just not existent for the third season —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.167.60.34 (talk) 22:25, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Which is why we use the volume one box. It was the best we could do, and looks rather nice. Rau's Speak Page 22:51, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I see no problems with using the DVD box. Once the DVD Boxset of the Third Season is actually out we can put that in, but until it is released, I think we're okay with the DVD Box, agreed? Gamloverks (talk) 17:03, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I'd say so. Seeing as we now use the third season box. ;p Rau's Speak Page 07:12, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

I switched it to a better version that matches the other pages. ~Pakaroo (talk) 16:00, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Canadian Airdates?

Are the dates noted Canadian airdates? If so, can we please change them to USA airdates? 72.76.181.118 (talk) 20:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC) Rock On!

No we can't. The dates in the box are the original airdates. Some of them are canadian, some are USA, some are Belgium. It reflects where it first aired. Rau's Speak Page 03:26, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
I agree with both of you. Maybe, in the form of the infobox for films, we set them like so:
[country's flag] Airdate
[country's flag] Airdate
and so on, with the airdates in order from earliest to latest?--WTRiker (talk) 16:53, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
That doesn't work in a list. Unlike infoboxes, list's have to worry about appearance as well. It's a nice idea, and I applaud you for it, but it simply wouldn't be allowed once someone gets around to getting it to GA. (Parent seems to be doing them in order) Rau's Speak Page 17:17, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Final episode summaries

Recently, the final episode summaries were found on the official website of the Avatar DVDs. However, the only remaining record of these (since they have fixed the summary errors despite the screenshot images are still from volume 4 as far as I know) is in an image on tinypic. Is it still okay to add these at this point? I don't see any problem as we already have summaries for episodes that have yet to air anywhere, but I thought I'd ask before I edited. Caterfree10 (talk) 17:34, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

You'd have to let us see the link, to make sure it is a good source.~Pakaroo (talk) 19:50, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Why does this article exist?

Not that it isn't a good article with good information, but it seems to me the "extra" information located here (and on the other Book (season) articles) could have saved List of Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes from being delisted as a Featured List. Also, the idea that episode details should be added to these articles instead of to the main list of episodes, and that main list is for like summaries of summaries? It just seems like an exercise in futility, to me. -- Chickenmonkey X  sign?  05:17, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Seasons 1 and 2 both have articles, which are both "Good articles". This article is meant to be about the season (production, reception, etc.) where List of episodes is just concentrated on the episodes. Blackngold29 05:52, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
No, I understand that and if that's the consensus it's no big deal, but I disagree with it. I think if there's going to be an episode list then it doesn't really make sense to have separate articles for the individual seasons where the same information is repeated. To me, it would make more sense for the episode list to have complete summaries of each episode and the season articles to merely list the episode titles with no summaries. As it is now, it's almost as if the complete episode list is meaningless. -- Chickenmonkey X  sign?  06:58, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
No arguments from me on that. List of Lost episodes a is well put together FL. Now that Avatar is over, it would make sense to have this article look more like the Lost one. You might try over at the Avatar WP, perhaps some more will agree with you. Blackngold29 07:13, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Someone tried to do that a while back, I reverted feeling that there should be a discussion for that, but no one ever commented. I am for modeling it after Lost or Smallville. I was trying to get it back to FL, but I like consensus for so many things and it was pretty dead before the finale, I just kinda hit a wall. Rau's Speak Page 15:27, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Uh...

It says that Azula presumely (spelled wrong, I know,) is sent to the same prison as Ozai. I don't think we can make a wide speculation like that without knowing. There is no evidence to that at all. Mew Mitsuki (talk) 18:12, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

It is just implied that she was arrested, so we COULD edit it to say that. ~Pakaroo (talk) 18:51, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

We really can't. It's speculation and OR. Rau's Speak Page 23:35, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Right, unless it's specifically stated or another source is found that states it, then it shouldn't be included. Blackngold29 23:48, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Fairly major rewrite

I've put together I kind of major but not really that major rewrite of this article in my sandbox. I was wondering: if you guys would like to take a look at it, if you believe I should implement it, and if you believe it's an improvement or not an improvement over the current state of this article. Thanks. -- Chickenmonkey X  sign?  02:52, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Good edits are being made here that I'm just having to incorporate into the rewrite; so I've decided to be bold, go ahead with it and deal with the aftermath that will most likely occur, but I do feel the edits are called for. I'm removing some things for multiple reasons: redundancy; the lead is supposed to summarize the entire article but the current version merely repeats information, WP:UNDUE; the positive comments about the show are given undue weight in the current version, and the current lead mentions information (such as the hiatus) which probably shouldn't be in the lead but if it is in the lead it should definitely be gone into more detail in the article, which it isn't in the current version. I would have just edited these changes into the article and been done with it, but it's under peer review and I didn't want to make these kind of changes right in the middle of that.

I would ask these edits not be simply reverted but instead expanded upon and, most importantly, discussed. -- Chickenmonkey X  sign?  22:06, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

The hiatus might be worth mentioning under a production section. Hewinsj (talk) 13:36, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Ember island

according to the captions when I watched it it was emerald isalnd not ember island. any comments? Djf2014 (talk) 18:58, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

You're captions were wrong. The title of S3E17 confirm that it is Ember Island. Rau's Speak Page 19:58, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Release Dates and proper ref formatting

There were a bunch of hidden text tags in the article next to the release dates saying: "Appeared in X Non U.S. Country on Y Date that's not the same as the US Release date." I've tagged all of these with citation needed tags, because I can't find a proper source, as IGN and Avatar Spirit have the US release dates.

Also, does anyone feel like going over and properly formatting the rest of my citations in the "release date" column? I'm not sure how to do it. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 18:42, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Lks to specific episodes

The following is markup intended to go in the first line of the coverage of the episode "Headband" to permit other articles to link directly to it:

<span id="Headband"/><!-- The preceding markup is the target of a link in the Dab [[Headband (disambiguation)]]-->

But it breaks the template or table or both. The markup is well established -- for instance, the following link to the criteria for deleting band articles that don't assert the band's notability uses the same structure -- but i can't see how to make it work here. I'm changing the lk to Avatar: The Last Airbender#Headband into Avatar: The Last Airbender#Episodes which is still better than Avatar: The Last Airbender, which i think is what i found.
My opinion is that such articles would be improved by adding such link targets, and my guess is that

  1. it would become easier if the {{Tl:Episode list/Avatar3}} were modified to have one more parameter, whose value would be placed with creating anything visible, or
  2. it would turn into a piece of cake if the Tl instead automatically used the ep-title param to generate the span tag, using the ep-title param as the Id thingy in the span tag. (The comment would appear in the middle of the Tl pg, or be obviated by the documentation of the Tl.)

If i were more interested in tables and Tl's than in Dab-cleanup, i'd look into it, but in fact i'm less interested in them. Perhaps someone else will look into it, or kick the matter upstairs to the relevant Wiki-Project(s). Thanks, and best wishes.

Iroh "bodybuilding"

The description for episode 4 currently reads: "Meanwhile, Iroh devises a plan to escape prison and starts bodybuilding in secret."

I'd like to thank the person who took the time to write these episode descriptions but I have a minor issue with describing what Iroh is doing as bodybuilding. Bodybuilding is done for aesthetics and isn't always conducive to fittness, what Iroh is doing here doesn't appear to be motivated by muscle size and definition. For now I am going to change it to 'exercising in secret' but if anyone feels something like 'training' would be more appropriate then I wouldn't object.94.195.132.60 (talk) 13:40, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Table alignment

I'm trying to fix the table alignment, since it looks like this on my browser (IE8) on a 1024x768 screen: Table alignment

Maybe we're using different browsers/screen sizes? The same thing happens with the book 1 and book 3, where I'm trying to do the same thing: Table alignment, season 1, Table alignment, season 3

My edits look okay on my browser/screen, so I can't tell how it's looking funny on the older edit. More clarification on how to approach, if possible please? EikaKou (talk) 07:14, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
