Passing traffic

edit

>On the A13 Autostrasse, portions of the road even allow you to overtake using the carriageway usually reserved for oncoming traffic!

This is actually common practice in the US, and it weirded me out to see an exclamation point, because this practice of passing using the lane for oncoming traffic is not universally surprising. I don't want to offend anyone by taking it out or adding reference to US practices, but I thought I'd drop a line. I might remove the mark later if no one comments. Germany

edit

Actually the german version at http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autostra%C3%9Fe says:

"In Deutschland wird der Begriff Autostraße nicht verwendet."

meaning "In Germany the term Autostraße is not used." No german Autostrasses. This article seems to be at least inaccurate.—Preceding unsigned comment added by ? (talkcontribs) 8 June 2006

The reason is that they are legally called Kraftfahrstraße. It is a name difference only. --217.209.224.181 (talk) 09:27, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
