Why did this group split from mainstream Labor? 203.33.3.2 (talk) 03:21, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Probably because Lang had been deposed as leader by William McKell. This lot were Lang loyalists and were especially outraged by the Industrial Labor Party's involvement in Lang's fall; they also claimed communist influence in the ALP. Or so I surmise - as you can see we've got only a few sources here. Frickeg (talk) 05:21, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

What with the Non Communist label anyway. The Shadow Treasurer (talk) 21:33, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lang may have been from the left, but he was also staunchly anti-communist. I believe the label is an attempt to counter frequent criticism thrown at Lang Labor by both Labor and the Coalition that Lang's opposition to capitalism made him a communist. Frickeg (talk) 22:27, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
