Merger Proposal edit

I propose that Aurukun rape case be merged into this article because:

  • The rape case article is essentially coverage of a single event and is unlikely to be expanded further. The link with a statewide review of child sex cases in indigenous communities is as much to do with national issues and the NT intervention as with the Aurukun case, and there is no other claim to enduring notability;
  • Tragic though the case is, it does not seem notable enough for a standalone article but it may be notable enough for a brief mention in the overall Aurukun article;
  • Neither article is very long and merging the two will assist readers by locating all information about Aurukun in the one place.

If the merg went ahead it could be incldued at the end of the History section of the main article, as a brief paragraph with the appropriote references.

If there are any disagreements with this proposal please let me know. Euryalus (talk) 22:33, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the absence of any views either way, I have merged the meterial into this article and redirected "Aurukun rape case" to this page. Euryalus (talk) 10:26, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
