• Just a general feeling, the lead seems quite large for this article, have you compared it with the requirements of WP:LEAD?

I made a mental goof. The reference to Louisville should have been Springfield. It was even correct in the reference, but St. Louis's AAA affiliate was in Louisville when I was a kid and somehow that must have been on my mind. Evansville is mentioned (briefly, since it's also a minor league team) in the second paragraph under the MLB career section.

Placing this on hold until the above is resolved, mainly minor apart from the last point. The Rambling Man (talk) 10:29, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
