USA
Surely some of America's most recent endevours should be included on this timeline?
There seems to be a funny error:
wikipedia: 1979 - In Central Park, New York a concert is given by cars.
on-this-day.com: 1979 - The Cars performed at New York's Central Park for an audience of a half million people.

Windows 95 was an important date in aug 24 1995 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.110.179.64 (talk) 06:28, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Vesuvio
About the Vesuvio's eruption please read/translate the Italian article it:Data dell'eruzione del Vesuvio del 79, here it's explained because the date of 24 august is wrong. The article should be proposed for a translation in English. --Accurimbono (talk) 18:32, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
I've just removed the entry on the eruption of Mt Vesuvius. The wiki content itself has called into question the date since 2010-08-27T20:38.35. If someone wants, they can add the eruption of Mt Vesuvius to the page for Oct 24th (see the page that Accurimbono links to, above), though that date isn't certain. - Dotyoyo (talk) 06:33, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
Sack of Rome?
Why is the beginning of Alaric's Sack of Rome not included? That event was paramount in the collapse of the Western Roman Empire which was one of the most important events in human history. --Kuzwa (talk) 20:14, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Because Alaric sacked Rome on June 2nd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:1811:C19:6D00:8C20:75CA:410:6BB3 (talk) 00:48, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
St. Bartholomew's Day
Would it not be better to have the entry under "Holidays and Observances" as "St. Bartholomew's Day" rather than calling it "Bartholomew"ACEOREVIVED (talk) 21:25, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- No, as that is listed as a Christian celebration. No other saints have the word "day" after their name. St Bartholomew's Day as a commemoration of the SBD Massacre would be above. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 01:52, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Adding the Empire State Building Shooting?
Can I add that Shooting on the Empire State Building to this ?
It injured 9. 2 Dead.
Recommendation to add.
Pompeii?
Can we add the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD to this?
Waffle Day, Strange Music Day
Nothing in the Waffle Day article supports today (although it is apparently a real thing in Sweden, on March 25). And Strange Music Day is a creation of one man. I suggest both be removed from here. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 01:53, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
